Great food and excellent service
by Reediejr
I'm starting to suspect that a few of these very negative reviews are from staff of other restaurants, as I have seen them on several other sites and they are not at all accurate.
The food is excellent, but the reason we keep going back is the service. I'm not sure if some negative reviews were people simply being impatient or rude, but we've had nothing less than stellar service every single time we've been to Ban Thai, and we've been going for about three years now an average of three times per month. The staff members know perfect English and they've never had trouble understanding us. They remember our faces and the last time we were in. I've recommended this place to several good friends who are picky about Thai. I used to write restaurant reviews for a Cincinnati publication, so I've been to a lot of independent places. This is one of the best.
- Pros: friendly staff, excellent taste, sushi bar
- Cons: some items slightly expensive
Best Thai food on the East side!
by CK198806
Ban Thai is a great restaurant. The food is great and the servers are friendly. They will cater to your every need, if you want no ice, light ice, a sprite mixed with coke, they will do it for you and they won't charge you. Even the dishes are customizable, if you are allergic to peanuts or peppers or anything else, they will take it out with care. If they get busy it's a little slow, but there is usually only 2 workers at a time, the manager and the sushi chef will take care of you just like a server. It's hard to find good, fresh food anywhere else, as well as servers who you see all the time.
- Pros: Food and service
- Cons: Gets busy a lot, so you might have to wait
usually fast service, awesome fresh food, servers indifferent not personable

We go to Ban Tai a lot. It's for the food not the friendly service. They could care less who you are. They act like they don't reckognize us. They hardly speak English so it's hard to communicate niceties back and forth. If the food weren't so awesome I would not be able to tolerate the staff. They don't even smile. But, they do know how to cater quicly to a busy lunch crowd, unless you have a large group of people.
3rd class customer treatement

I went to Ban thai today and he took order as if he is doing curtosy on me. At the end the guy who was taking order gave us a check and asked us to write a tip or else he will never serve us again. If you guys have self respect never ever stepinto this restaurent and BAN this restaurent from operating in this area.
- Pros: Just normal thai food.
- Cons: You will come out after loosing all your self respect with the kind of treatement which people give.
Best Thai Food in Cincinnati!
by Heyidcstfu
Ban Thai is not well known, although the folks who frequent the eatery know how deliciously flavorful the dishes are. All foods are prepared fresh as they are ordered. Only appetizers are pre-made, like the spring rolls etc. They have many popular dishes, like Pad Thai and Hot and Sour Soup. As well as true Thai dishes, like Pad Ga Pow, ground pork or chicken mixed with diced string beans on a bed of sticky rice. You can even personalize your dishes, leaving out vegetables you don't like and adding in extras you do!
Along with spicy Thai food, Ban Thai offers fresh cut sushi everyday! Only small portions of fish are unfrozen at a time, to preserve the freshness throughout the day. Rice is made during lunch and again during dinner, so it's never stale!
- Pros: Great selection of food, always fresh!
- Cons: Parking spaces could be limited on weekends
A comfortable sit-down restaurant presents a change of pace from the usual Cincinnati cuisine.

In Short
A comfortable restaurant situated in one of Cincinnati's strip malls offers plenty of Thai standards, starting with spring rolls, satay pork or chicken, and fried stuffed chicken wings. Entrées include traditional favorites, such as Pad Thai, stir fry and multiple duck options, as well as more interesting selections like the seasonal mango curry with chicken or the jade noodles with shrimp. A variety of soups and salads are also available to satisfy a light appetite.
- Pros: hidden treasure
