Fresh.... but NOT great
by stevenewport
I can see why there are so many good reviews: it is a pleasant atmosphere that I enjoyed myself at... I had a good time. The food I put in my mouth, however, was refreshing.... but not inspiring. Oh what a little extra garlic would have done, or some oregano, thyme, cayenne pepper, smoke, FIRE, SPICES. It didn't seem like this place did anything other than pickup some fresh produce and put it on a good dough. The cheeses are nothing to drool over, nothing of notable quality; and the pairing of flavors leaves a lot to be desired.
Of the three pizzas I tried, they were all lacking in complexity of flavor and originality. If you go, you'll have a good time, but don't expect to be wowed if you really value what you choose to consume.
The most bang-for-your-buck, I would say, comes from the red sauces though.
- Pros: Fresh ingredients, nice atmosphere, good service, good beer
- Cons: No Originality, lacking complexity in flavors and recipes
Good Pizza but not the Best in Cincinnati
by kharmeyer
I have had an inconsistent experience with Dewey's - sometimes good, sometimes not that great. It's convenient b/c there are several locations, and good to visit with a group of people.
The Best Pizza....Plus.
by cstricklen
The freshest, best tasting ingredients on the the best, hand-tossed crust, served hot by friendly, attentive people who seem to like their job. This is actually my favorite pizza--not just here but anywhere. We discovered it at the Dayton location (UD area) and haven't been disappointed at other Dewey's restaurants. That would be enough to keep me coming back, but there's more. Like salads (esp. the Greek) that you would be happy with in a fine-dining restaurant; an excellent selection of draft beers and ales not usually found in a pizzeria--not even close to the Bud-Bud Light-Coors-Coors Light-Miller-Miller Lite-and-on-and-on carbonated water you will usually find; they even have some first-rate, moderately priced wines, obviously carefully selected. Lots of people like the big chain pizza or standby La Rosa's. I prefer the good stuff.
- Pros: The best pizza and the best food and beverage you'll find at a pizza place.
- Cons: It's not cheap, but I don't really call that a con; You can't make good, fresh pizza for a nickel.
If the tiny neighborhood of Oakley has a heart, this pizza joint is it.

In Short
Though the crowd tends toward youngish professionals and students, this is a good place to bring the whole family. Curious kids can gather at the kitchen windows to watch the chefs toss pizza crusts in the air. Specialty pizzas include the Bronx bomber (pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, onions, green pepper and black olives) and more interesting choices like the caprice (white sauce, mozzarella and fontina cheeses, fresh basil and roma tomatoes).
Great pizza, pizza!
by blitzkrieg2000
This is what pizza should be like. Worth the cost and the wait. THe sauce is not too heavy and the topping selections are numerous and really fresh. SOOOOOOO GOOOOOD!
- Pros: Food and service
- Cons: None
Some of the best pizza in Cincy
by scott597
This is probably one of the best pizza joints in Cincinnati, 10X better then overated LaRosas. Definatly worth checking out for some great pizza! I do wish they had some appetizers , their menu is very limited (except for the pizza). A Great resturant for kids.
- Pros: great pizza, atmosphere
- Cons: $$$
LOVED IT!!!
by whatulookinat
I am from Philadelphia, PA, I was visiting friends of mine from the area and they suggested that we go to Deweys. Let's just say I wish there was a Deweys in Philly. I tried the Edgar Allen Poe, it was excellent!!! Service was excellent, and we were there when it was very busy, we did have to wait a few minutes before we were seated, but well worth the wait. It was obviously the place to be! I can't wait to go back to get more!
- Pros: great service
- Cons: small tables
best PiZZa in the Tri-State
by poiznivy
My favorite thing about Dewey's pizza is the option for the white sauce instead of pizza sauce. I also love their greek salad and dressing. I read a lot of complaints regarding parking -- if you go to Deweys, try the one at Newport on the Levee. I also like the smoke-free atmosphere. On the weekends it can get busy, but when you have the best pizza around that's to be expected!
- Pros: unique flavor, reasonable price, awesome service
- Cons: none
