I thought this place could use a more recent review than 2003. I've been going to Germain for concerts since 1999, and I haven't seen too many bad changes. Naturally, ticket prices are outrageous, but that's not really Germain's fault. A lot of concert tickets now are including the parking fee, so that saves you $7. I went there last week, and I did notice that you are now allowed to bring food and drinks into the amphitheater with you. You can't bring cans or alcohol, but you'll definitely save money by bringing your own water and snacks instead of buying them there at the horrific prices they charge. Seating isn't bad (I always get lawn tickets), and there are only some areas that have bad views of the stage.

Pros: can bring food/water in, occasional free parking, lots of bathrooms

Cons: high food/beer prices

I saw Pearl Jam play here in June 2003. it is an ok venue. nothing special or different from any other Ampitheater in any other city. It is located right in/near a Corporate Office Park so parking can be tight. also its now Germain Ampitheater not Polaris

I have been to Polaris several times to see various rock bands. Polaris's mainstage is horrid. The only time it is good is when there is second or third stages. Prices are steep and shows not that good.

Pros: Size, Easy to find

Cons: Comfort Level, Expensive, Bad Parking

It is the best to hear and see your bands. the seating is great, and i can get in and out with no problem thank you!

Pros: Great sounds, Great seating, good ticket prices

Polaris is an awesome place for any concert because you can see the stage fromlike every seat and it is not too big but not too small!

Pros: awesome shows, awesome seats

its like any other outdoor venue except with bad traffic direction and its really too small to be considered a comfortable venue. So it actually kinda sucks.

Pros: outside, there are bathrooms, loud (for the area)

Cons: too small, bad traffic, better shows

although Polaris has gotten stricter with its no blankets rules it is still a great place to party and listen to live music. when the weathers nice there isnt any place else id rather be!

You can roam around this venue all evening and catch shows on two separate stages that do not conflict with each other. With the right bands, this venue is Columbus' hot spot. Minus traffic at the 71 exit and $7.50 beers, this will get you almost out of the city for a fun outdoor show. We DO have to work on the actual performers though.`

Pros: wide open, good sound, multi-stage

Cons: traffic, prices, bands

Security is too rigid getting into the venue. Parking is too expensive. Other than security and prices for parking, food and drink, Polaris is the best venue in Columbus to see a show.

Pros: ample space, nice lawn, easy access

Cons: Parking too expensive, Food & Drink too hi, some staff unfriendly

Unless it is a group that you are dying to see, get seats in the lawn. The people are fun and the view is just as good.

Editor's Review

Columbus residents used to have to travel elsewhere if they wanted to see a major concert. Now our summer nights are filled with music.  See the full editorial review.
