Hold on to your wallet

I have experienced the same! The service at this Newport location is horrible! The food was good, but you have to watch your money closely. Some of the servers swipe tips from each other's tables. And when you go to pay for the bill, they ring it up higher than what it actually is. Sad to see. If you want to charge more for the food, then do it. There's no need to play fast and loose with people's money. My family won't be returning any time soon.

Have been here several times. Food is good service too but recently I left my I-phone on the table. 15 minutes later I discovered it and called the restaurant. at first they refused to check the table and later when I went to talk to then myself. Management seemed not to care. Tho I like this restaurant I will have to think hard about going back because of the dishonest staff.

It's unfortunate that I feel the need to write this review, but my experience at Rio Grande today was AWFUL. First, I have been a very loyal patron for many years. The food has been delicious. Hot. Plentiful. The luncheon prices are extremely reasonable. The workers have been very friendly.
Except today.
We arrived just BEFORE 3 p.m. ~ their cut off for lunch prices. In fact, it was 2:53 as I checked my phone. We were seated immediately, but uncharacteristicly, my friend was served his meal a full 5 minutes before mine. That wasn't what really pushed me over the edge. Our waiter gave us the bill, which accurately reflected the lunch order. But at the register, some other lady...not even the lady at the cash register...decided to stick her nose into it and CHANGED THE TICKET PRICE RIGHT THERE! She claimed she arrived at 3:00 p.m. and saw us come in after! I told her numerous times that it was before 3, but she insisted we owed her $6 more. Outrageous.
Even trying to give her the benefit of the doubt, it is possible she had us confused with someone else. Or maybe she had the incorrect time. Regardless, she was insistent we pay her more as the line formed behind us. Very embarrassing. It was starting to get me angry.
The long and short of it is, I gave her the additional money to end the arguement. She might think that she won, but what she lost was a long time loyal customer.
In the end, what really bothered me was that she was NOT even the one waiting on us. And she changed the bill on our receipt AT THE REGISTER. And the worst part was that she questioned my honesty. My integrity. It's unfortunate because I did really enjoy going there, but if that is how I get treated for my patronage, I will take my business elsewhere.
The waiter, by the way, was intentionally stiffed on the tip so we could at least get some of our money back. My apologies to him. Normally, they recieve 20-25% from me. Not anymore.
Best Mexican in Cinci

I frequent this place (Florence, Newport, and Alexandria locations) and have yet to find anything comparable in Cincinnati! I am a fan of authentic Mexican food and this is where you will get it, in huge portions and little $$! Service is always great and I can always plan on making it a quick stop if necessary. Great for anyone!
- Pros: Food, Service
Looking for great Mexican food...look no more.

We have taken our employees there for lunch more than once. Finding a place for a party of 11 employees is usually hard to find...but they have a room in the back that is great for the larger groups.
Great price; plenty of food. If you leave hungry...there is no help for you anywhere else. Eat and Enjoy.
- Pros: Thumbs up...food, service, price and clean restaurant
- Cons: Everyone loves this restaurant; so come early
