Nice atmosphere in the old pharmacy with excellent food. Don't miss the Big Band on Saturday.

Have a very good differnt menu. Resturant is an intimate type of seating that lends itself to easy converation. Enjoyed the experience. Be sure and stop upstairs on Saturday and hear the Swingtime Big Band. The band plays all the classics from the Miller and Sinatra era.
- Pros: Food, atmosphere, music
- Cons: parking

From the moment we walked in the door, we loved the atmosphere!! The items on the menu were very unique and the entees we ordered were fabulous! Save room for the home made desert!! The service we received was outstanding! The manager even went as far as to go next door to check to see if there were tickets available for us to see a show that was playing nearby. If you are looking for a great dining experience.... you must try York st Cafe!
- Pros: Great food, Great service, Great Atmosphere!!
- Cons: None
Great Food and Atmosphere

As a native Campbell County Kentuckian, I eat there at least once, usually several times, whenever I'm back in the area. The food is always excellent and we are always perfectly attended by the staff.
- Pros: Love their salmon.
Your Street - RUDE TREATMENT BY MANAGER
by swingpatron at Citysearch
The food is ecclectic and pricy. There aren't any "true" meat and potatoes on their menu. Service tends to be slow and several times when dining there the orders have been incorrect. This isn't the only thing that angers me though. While attending the Swing Band performance on the 2nd floor, I was approached by the manager and verbally told off. Whatever happened to proper customer service and etiquette? You DO NOT go to a customer, no matter the what (when there was opportunity to talk to them earlier about something in private) and verbally tell them they are extremely rude when there are other patrons!!!! Being used as an example to other patrons is not PROFESSIONAL.
Although the Swing Band is VERY GOOD, the room they are provided is cramped and crowded. And although a group of us have been attending these concerts for the past several years, there have been times when we, having paid the cover to see the band are forced to stand (even though some are elderly), while patons waiting for a table in the restaurant on the first floor are given the tables. There is nothing on the second floor indicating that food is available, which was the reason for the manager feeling he HAD TO TELL US OFF. Even after we had bought drinks from the 2nd floor bar.
- Pros: Ambience is good - lots to see
- Cons: Slow service and rude management
worst service on earth

We were set up to have a bridal shower at York Street and had agreed on $12 - $15 per person. 40 minutes before the shower I called to see if everything was ok and Betsy (owner's wife) told me it would be $20 per person plus tip! And told me the price she had given me 4 days before was a year old... and the economy went bad!!!! Believe me or not!!!! Forget it... I called Pompilio's and they arranged to take my party for a great time!!!! Never again I will step a foot in there!
- Pros: cool place
- Cons: Horrible people that don't no how to do good business.
A gathering place for a progressive crowd that likes its food homemade and its art local.

In Short
Originally built as a pharmacy in 1880, the cafe is a beautiful three-plus-story building with all of its original woodwork in prime condition. In 1995, York St. Cafe began a comeback as an entertainment and dining venue and continues to thrive. The menu emphasizes Middle Eastern and vegetarian fare, with homegrown herbs and homemade dressings and pastries. A full bar, pinball, darts, arcade games and miniature bowling machine are available for the restless.
- Pros: organic produce

One of the best places to get a lamb dish in town. The bread is very good, so was the soup of the day (creamy parsnip & carrot.) There is apparently no division between nonsmoking and smoking, but the place was open enough that the smoke did not bother us.
- Pros: excellent food, lively and cozy
- Cons: expensive
