Great Korean Dining by T A. at InsiderPages
Contributor at Insider Pages
Riverside Korean offers a full Korean menu with in-table grills for Korean BBQ. They have three traditional tables (guests sit on the floor), and several western tables. It can be really fun to go and share a few different dishes with friends if you're not familiar with Korean cuisine. The waiters are very helpful if you're looking for suggestions and they can customize dishes to meet your needs if there isn't anything on the menu that looks perfect. The food is delicious and the dining experience is unique.
PROS: Good Food, Unique Dining
CONS:
One of Covington's finest!!!

Looking for a truly authentic experience? Then try this restaurant! I went there for lunch and got one of the "lunch boxes." You get to pick from marinated beef, pork, chicken, and couple a don't remember. I tried the beef. The flavors were bold and exquisite, from the succulent beef, to the carmelized potatoes or crispy dumplings. They have booths with a built in hot plate for authentic Korean BBQ, and they also have floor tables where you take your shoes off and sit on pillows to eat. From the exceptional service to the outstanding food, my experience couldn't have been better. Very small place but the seating is spaced out creating a cozy but relaxed ambiance. Seating is probably an issue on the weekends, but if you can wait, I promise you will not be disappointed.
- Pros: Unique flavors, ambiance, service
- Cons: seating, parking
Most Authentic Korean Restaurant

Very Authentic Korean Restaurant. Best to make reservations. Small & cozy setting in downtown Covington. Everything I've had there is superb! love the Bi bim bop & dolce bi bim bop. as well as the seafood pancake apps, grilling on the table top is great as well! Definitely the best place to go in Covington! Also dont forget to try the soju with fresh sliced cucumbers! IT's the best!
- Pros: Food, ambiance, service, authenticity
- Cons: small seating area
Wow

This restaurant is amazing, we are always searching for ?authentic? restaurants in the city and this is one of them. The food never disappoints, it seems to get better every time. Try to get there early on a weekday night for a table, or you might be waiting for some time, but it will definitely be worth it.
- Pros: Authentic Asian food
- Cons: Seating
Worth the wait

This place is small....like greasy spoon small....maybe 9 tables. You can't make reservations with less than 4, but you WILL get seated eventually. The food is magnificient! I hate waiting for a table, simply hate it! ...but for this? no problem. Once you try it you'll understand. Everyone else there seemed to know how good it was too, so they were all in VERY friendly spirits.
- Pros: Food, Atmosphere, Patrons
- Cons: waiting, small waiting area, parking
Thumbs up from a picky eater

I took a friend of mine there and I knew she wasn't the experimental kind. However, the moment she took in the ambience of the place, she got excited. Her excitement spilled over to her willingness to try something new. The food was excellent, and she LOVED it!! Everything about the meal she enjoyed. Sinse then, she has asked to be brought back 3 times.
- Pros: excellent food, reasonable price, great decor
- Cons: street parking, limited seating
Best Korean food I've had outside of Korea!

I love this restaurant! Every time my wife and I go to this place, we leave with huge grins on our faces. The only drawback is that we 90 miles away. That still doesn't stop us from eating here at least once a month. The dolsot bibimbap (rice, vegetables, and optional meat and egg, in a hot stone bowl) is divine. The kalbi-tchim (a short rib stew) is my favorite. The ambience is unlike most other places around. You have the option of sitting on the floor (on cushions), just like in Korea. Or, if you want, of course you can sit in a booth. The place is small, but it never feels crowded, making for a cozy, inviting dining experience. Wonderful!
- Pros: Food, Ambience, Family-owned
- Cons: I don't live close
No tables for two!

Next time you consider the Korean Riverside Restuaurant, don't try going with one other person (only).
A friend and I went last night (Saturday), having called ahead for a 7:30 reservation. There was some trouble with the reservation, but at 7:45 we were told that, because we were only two, we wouldn't be seated until 8:30. Other people who arrived after us (in larger groups) would be seated first. The reason, "we had to understand," was that it is a small restaurant. Apparently, that allows them to turn away anyone who won't fill up the place to capacity and allow them to make the most money on every table. I have taken my business elsewhere--permanently.
- Pros: Large tables only
- Cons: No tables for two
