Great Experience. I liked the shop the moment I stepped in. John was friendly and helpful and spent a lot of time talking to me about cigars. I am new to cigars and the price paid for the information and service was well worth it.

Value vs. Price. I haven't shopped around that much, but it doesn't surprise me when people report that Bell's prices are higher than other places. If you want personal attention and genuine help, you're going to have to pay a little extra for it. If you know exactly what you want and just want to make a purchase, there are probably better stores for you.

But if you aren't knowledgable in the subject and/or want to discover something new, then Bell's is a great place. I gladly support a local, helpful store-owner, even if it costs me a couple extra bucks over travelling across state-lines or navigating a grocery store with its own zip-code.

Great, friendly shop. I'm new to cigar smoking and when I stopped by Bell's I was a bit apprehensive. I felt at ease the moment I stepped into the shop. John Bell asked if I needed help soon as he was done with his other customers. He took the time to find out I was looking for as far as price, size and personal tastes. It would be easy to take advantage of someone who doesn't know much, but I felt like he was trying to make me feel comfortable rather than making a quick sale.

He picked out a couple cigars for me from different countries with the same wrapper but different filler so I could compare flavor and find out what I liked. I felt very satisfied with my purchase and I'm sure I'll be back. John also gave me some info on upcoming events at the shop so I can show up, learn more and meet other people.

I guess if all you care about is price, this isn't the shop for you. I was looking for a place where I could feel at home, get decent service and advice from someone who knows what they're talking about. That's what I found.

WAY over priced. This guy's prices are sky high.. for example he charges over $40 a pound for pipe tobacco, you can get a pound at Tinder Box for $29. Cigars, even worse, his prices are nearly double what you would pay in Kentucky (or Fairfield for that matter) . His products are fine, his prices are not. I'm a long time pipe and cigar smoker, I know a bad deal when I see one.
