good food. My family ate at De Sha's to celebrate my birthday. Food was good, price was reasonable. Service was not so good and the place was much too loud. If I had not been starving I would have not stayed. We had a baby with us and they gave us a most uncomfortable table (narrow bench). We had to hold the baby almost the entire time. I guess all the high chairs were in use.
Duck-watching from deck; Songs by Larry are great!. We have patronized deSha's for several years and have always had good, creative food and service. We particularly enjoy'Larry' when he performs in the lobby bar. Wish there was a dance floor to accompany his ballard interpretations!! Also, Jay at the keyboard is relaxing entertainment.
Just Like Dennys. AOL ranked Desha's as the fourth best place to go for brunch and WOW was I disappointed. I'm sure Desha's is a fine place to eat and the decor is cool and rustic. The brunch however was par with Dennys or Perkins. Roasted Pork sounded good - could have used it as a weapon it was so over cooked. The eggs Benedict was just as dry. Plus the feeding frenzy of overweight patrons was shocking. My wife and I thought, OK, we tried it and we won't be back but when we got the $50 bill I almost choked on my macaroni and mock-cheese.
Hearty food is complimented by a well-stocked bar in this cozy tavern..
The Scene
Vaulted ceilings, rich wood paneling and hunter green accents give the interior of this Harper's Point tavern a manly feel. The two seating areas include Muifield Pub, with a cozy fireplace, live music and cigars, and the Tavern Bar, featuring an outdoor deck and a large slection of single barrel bourbons and specialty Manhattans.
The Food
In addition to "tavern fare," the menu includes wood grill and rotisserie items, pastas and seafood. The rotisserie roasted chicken has a nice smoky flavor, though the vegetables served on the side consist mostly of chopped celery. The fish and chips features a tremendous portion of fried haddock, but it is heavily breaded and bland. More adventurous options include a chili-rubbed ahi sandwich, but the general menu philosophy seems to be average quality and enormous quantity. Desserts fare a little better, with offerings like New York cheesecake, apple pie and berry cobbler.
