Great conact lenses at great prices. I usually hate going to the eye doctor, but I had a great experience at Dr. Winkler's office. The receptionist was super friendly, and Dr. Winkler did a great job by fitting me with the right contact lenses on the very first try. I think that's the first time that that's ever happened for me.

Helped my Mom. My Mom suffers from macular degeneration and needed a special low vision device to help her function. The retinal specialist said that the 2 choices in Cincinnati were either the low vision clinic at the Cinti Assoc for the Blind or Dr. Winkler's office. I opted for a private practice (Dr. Winkler) vs. the institutional setting of the Blind association, and it worked out great. My Mom can read her Bible and the newspaper again.

keratoconus expert. I have a special condition called keratoconus. I moved here from New York, and was nervous that I wouldn't find anyone here that was able to prescribe my special rigid contact lenses as skillfully as my doctor back home. Thank goodness that I ended up in Dr. Winkler's office, because he prescribed me some keratoconus lenses that are the most comfortable that I have ever worn, in addition to allowing me to see perhaps more clearly than I can ever remember.

Diagnosed my problem. They had a sophisticated new instrument that allowed the doctor to diagnose a retinal problem without the need to dilate my eyes. I was referred to a retinal specialist for follow-up treatment. I am thankful that I chose this office.

Prefer ophthmalologist vs optometrist. Appeared rushed when did my exam. I was trying to carefully explain my visual problems (for I had several new issues) & he kept head nodding but didn't appear to hear what I said b/c he never addressed any of my issues. To make matters worse, after I got my prescription @ Lens Crafters (where his office attached) & I could not see at all. I waited thinking it was new prescription & would take some time, but months later I still had same visual problems. In fact I thought I had diabetes or something else wrong. I went to ophthalmologist & he re- evaluated me & gave me a new exam. He found I had nothing medically wrong but my prescription from dr winkler was very wrong. I got new prescription from ophthalmologist & have been seeing just fine since! I will go to ophthalmologist from now on because they can treat the health of my eye AND give me a new prescription for glasses! Money well NOT well spent on dr winkler's exam!
