The tortilla soup was fantastic. This was a great Mexican restaurant. The tortilla soup was fantastic with a flavorful base, generous amount of avocado, genuine Mexican Cheese and red peppers. The pork asada was unusually good. The service was friendly and the staff were very helpful in providing a a smaller drink for our two-year old.

Worst in City. If you're looking for the worst Mexican food of you life, eat here. Clearly this establishment offers much lower quality and less authentic Mexican food than Taco Bell. We visited this restaurant on advice posted on-line, most likely proffered by employees or owners. The restaurant was empty when we arrived, but being hardheaded we missed that clue. We were seated quickly and provided drinks. The menu offers an ample selection, so we pondered and tried some nachos. The salsa provided with the nachos as nearly as awful as the chips themselves. We ordered our meals. Within four minutes we were served our main dishes. I took two bites and slid the plate to the side. How could Mexican food offer no flavor? However they accomplished it, they did provide dishes about as tasteful as water. My dinner companion ate about a third of the meal and slid it to the side as well. Paid the bill and left. Avoid this restaurant.

Dont go here....buyer beware/!!!. After having dined in many Mexican restuarants all over the country.....California, Texas, Indiana, Florida, New Mexico and, yes, even in Ohio (to name a few) I have to say that this place was the worst of them all. First all they seated us in a remote corner near the signs behind an old wooden Bookcase/cabinet. This place is not kid friendly....there were no kids menus, crayons etc and the glasses that beverages were served in were huge and open. (probably 22 to 32 ounce glasses) The salsa was tasteless and dull. The food was worse...almost no taste and COLD. The waiter understood very little english, said yes to everything and did nothing you asked about. I was most disappointed that when we went in we saw that they were highly recommended by city search....Best Mex. restuarant 2003, 2004,,,, yada yada yada. I say to anyone contemplating going here---dont be fooled by the looks and design. Any mexican restuarant that cant even do salsa right .......well Good Luck!

The Best Cincinnati-Area Mexican Restaurant. We love Mexican food and have tried numerous places over the years. But Jalapeno's is our favorite. I go there because it's the only Mexican restaurant that serves seafood other than shrimp; great salsa; crisp, warm chips; and tall glasses of your favorite beverage. Seating is usually immediate, though it can get crowded during peak times on weekends.

Authentic Mexican Food to be found here!. I lived in Mexico, and I know the real thing. You can find it at Jalapenos. I love the fantastic alambres and tacos al carbon which taste like they just came out of Mexico. My husband loves the seafood tacos. The prices are a tad bit steep, and the salsa lacks much flavor, but it's a nice atmosphere with helpful staff.

Not Satisfied. No one in the resturant, on the day I went, spoke good english. I was confused, the waiter was confused, and the acting manager was confused.
