The Mood
The Barresi family enterprise began with six tables and no menu. Over the years, it's expanded to 28 tables dispersed throughout several intimate rooms on two floors. The décor is plain--cream stucco walls, crisp linens and fresh flowers--but the sconces and candlelight put a soft glow on your dinner companions and the food. The restaurant's exterior was recently revamped, and it's better than the former brick exterior, but it still wouldn't tip off the casual passerby to the treasures within.
The Menu
Given the family's northern and southern Italian roots, the restaurant has always offered the best of both cuisines. You can choose from southern classics such as lasagna, manicotti and chicken cacciatore (one of the lighter entrees). Select from a swath of sauces including marinara, bolognese, Alfredo, pesto and clam. A northern Italian specialty is chicken Florentine, a succulent boneless breast of chicken stuffed with ham and cheese, served on a bed of fresh sautéed spinach, topped with a rich cream and cheese sauce, and garnished with pecans.
Great Expectations
Service at Barresi's is impeccable, the wine list is extensive and expensive. Treat yourself to Barresi's and you'll be treated right.

After one delicious meal there, this is our favorite restaurant bar none. Incredible waiters and service. Food to make your mouth water every time you think of it! Highly recommend!!

Barresi's offers the best in Italian dining in Cincinnati. The Lasagne is to die for and the unmatched selection of fine wine is as good as it gets!! My wife didn't care much for italian food until I took here for our 3rd wedding anniversary. She now has a new favorite restaurant!! If you want the best cincy has to offer in italian, you must go there.
