EXTREMELY Poor Customer Service / EXORBITANT Pricing. XXOn April 11, 2011 I brought a dress into RIP N STITCH (Cincinnati, OH) for alterations. It was not a complex garment. I asked for it to be hemmed (one turn up) no need to cut and for it to be taken in. I was told it (dress) could not be taken in on the sides but would be required to be altered from the back. Upon my leaving the dress I asked the price. I was told I would be called. They said they would have the dress ready by Friday, April 15th. I told them I was in no hurry for the item and the following week would be fine and I would wait on their call. I received no such call. I had left my work phone number with voice mail.

When I had not heard from Rip N Stitch by Wednesday, April 20, 2011 I called only be told that the garment had been altered and the price was $92.00. The person answering the phone was EXTREMELY RUDE. When I said I had not received a call. First she said they had called another number in my building. I called that area they checked their voice mail NO SUCH call was received. When I arrived at the establishment which had the correct phone number on the slip I was met with RUDENESS when I contested the price and told again that they had called but DID NOT leave a message. I personally DO NOT believe the call was ever made. Only to be told they did not know when I needed the dress so they went on and altered said item. When I had previously told the business I was in no hurry. I put this incident in the category of putting your car in the shop with them working on it without a price or your approval. RIP-OFF!! I cannot say how their workmanship is because they will most likely keep the dress unless they come down in the price. I DONOT wish to STIFF anyone on workmanship but I think that $92.00 for a simple dress is EXORBITANT to say at the least. I was told the owner would be calling me well it's next morning close to afternoon -no call. I guess my dress is being HELD HOSTAGE.
