Homey Atmosphere, Delicious Food, Great Experience – I make my way to Sugar N' Spice probably twice a week to enjoy the homey atmosphere, delicious food, and a great overall experience. The restaurant is filled with the type of people who want to whip up a conversation with anyone else who is there. Everyone at Sugar N' Spice has something in common, they all have found the city's best breakfast spot. If you enjoy striking up conversations with random people or just taking in an experience, then sit at the counter so you can see the whole restaurant.
The food is always good an cooked to perfection. Aside from the famous Wispy Thin Pancakes and Huge Omelets the menu is full of other great items. Of course they serve the Cincinnati favorites, and my personal favorite, goetta and it is always crispy, just as it should be. Stop by for lunch sometime and try the wings and mac n' cheese, absolutely delicious.
The staff is always friendly, prompt, and efficient.
Best in the City – Ive been coming here for about 3 years now and I can honestly say it puts any other breakfast place to shame. The homely atmosphere and staff is unparalled, and not to mention the food is out of this world! From the wispy thin pancakes to the gigantic omlettes..it really doesnt get any better! This is the place to be for breakfast.
Voted best late night but open til 3pm? – Voted best late night but open til 3pm and Best Thai?
I am confused by the rating of 3rd best late night restaurant yet it isn't even open at night....someone get this best rating removed!
Now I see it on Best Thai? Yeah something is messed up with this website or someone is playing serious head games
Best Breakfast and Lunch – Of course they have the best omeletes and pancakes in town, but they have a ton of other stuff on the menu. You could eat there every day of the week for a month and never order the same thing twice or be disappointed.
The new owner, Steve, is a hoot. And his new BBQ is great.
Skip the First Watches of the world. This is the place.
Thanks for the kind words. Next time you're in please let me know and I'll fill you in on all the suprises planed for this and next year. I guess you could go a month but with all the stuff the customers make up, like the bacon waffle and the sweet potato waffleburger, it seems like the menu has become a suggestion of lot's of food, but truth be told, the combination may be endless or at least a whole bunch.
The food is good, but the homey atmosphere and the dirt-heap prices are the draw at this cozy spot. – The Scene
Behind the unassuming facade on Reading Road is an even more unassuming interior, with floral wallpaper that reminds you of grandma's house and an antique cash register ringing up the checks. Friendly servers circulate with pots of coffee, addressing the regulars by name and the newcomers by "hon."
Breakfast is served all day, and the place is packed with folks enjoying the "whispy thin" pancakes, omelets, or just a giant parfait glass full of fruit. A sense of humor is evident in the names of the lunch sandwiches, such as the "Hooked 'n' Cooked" (fish sandwich), "Red 'n' Yeller" (grilled cheese with tomato) and "Hit the Deck" (double-decker with salami and Swiss). Try the "Alotta Bull" with a half-pound of beef, or the "Windy Special" with--you guessed it--grilled onions.
Same Great Food and Much More. You need to come back in and check out the hand painted murals and new/old decor. Same place just in better shape. The wispy thin pancakes are still best in cincy along with the biggest omelettes you'll ever eat. Lot's of new item and all the old favorites PLUS extended hours till 8pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Best Pancakes, Omlettes, Coffee – The "wispy thin" pancakes are the best around. The coffee, from local roaster Wallingford, is always fresh and hot. And the omlettes are always a great choice. Without a doubt, the best breakfast in Cincinnati. The only problem is everyone knows this, and so it's often crowded. Get there early.
cozy food – The food is good...the prices are excellent and the atmosphere is just like home!
After 20 years or so Sugar n' Spice is now open until 8pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday serving the same great favorites along with new ones; salmon patties, tilapia, catfish, philly sandwich or omelette and more ... all day PLUS ribs & chicken off the new outdoor grill, plenty of sides and Specials. Check us out on facebook/sugar.n.spice.restaurant and see photos and the new menu, our web site sugar-n-spice-restaurant or better yet come on in.
COMFORTABLE – VERY NICE PEOPLE. IT WAS VERY CLEAN, NEAT AND TIDY. EVERYONE KNEW SOMEONE. THE OWNER HIMSELF WORKS DAILY.
