Decent food and atmosphere. A three star rating represents a decent restaurant, and this one is decent. It has average food, most likely provided by Sysco. The dishes we at were tasteful and filling but lacked any real spices that might have made them more enjoyable. For Mexican and Cajun food, they have average food - nothing to write home about but nothing from which to walk away. Portion sizes were adequate and not super-sized, thank goodness. The menus provided adequate choices. The atmosphere seems conducive for a middle-age population and the place had a professional, albeit NOT yuppie-looking, crowd. This establishment looks similar to a turn-of-the-century bar and offered casual dining. One could hear dinner companions without any problems. The wait staff seats one quickly and food came soon after the order. The wait staff acts very helpful. A good average dining experience.

Beloved for its live music, large drink selection and Cajun/Mexican menu.. In Short
The bar is defined by its massive beer selection, with over 100 domestic and imported brews. The menu complements the beverage selection with its Mexican and Cajun emphasis, featuring dependable standards like chimichangas and red-beans-'n-rice over more adventursome fare. The joint also extends in back by a covered patio for those occasions when its comfortable enough to be outside. Music-wise, all of the bigger names in Cincinnati's somewhat ambiguous "blues scene" find their way over.

Food is Great - Not Just a Bar. The review hints that this is a dive bar that serves food, too - So Wrong! It's a RESTAURANT-BAR with exceptional cajun food!

The beer selection is amazing and the blackened fillet mignon is consistently excellent and a great value - watch out Dee Felice!

best in the city. Allyns by far has the edge on the cajun and mexican food here in the nati!!!

i have eaten many of cajun restaurants in the city and around the country and allyns

by far has an edge. the atmosphere, its there its friendly and the hospitality is priceless

music is great this place sets the evening off or finishes is great

Say Ole at Allys Cafe. A great selection of beers from all over the world compliments a menu with choices for all over as well. Food from authentic mexican and cajun specialties to Frech cuisine to steaks and chops. Best jambalaya in the city!
