Tips for Frisch's Big Boy Restaurant

Go to Frisch's for your favorites. I've eaten at various Frisch's over many years. They do some things well, and the rest we don't worry about.

We eat at many fine restaruants, but sometimes you just want to go out for some basic home cooking. This chain fills a lack of one thing in the midwest - the traditional diner. If you go out east, there are diners everywhere that sell cheap home cooked food. In Ohio, you have Frisch's and a few other places. The food is affordable, the pie is good, and the tuna melt's are done well. There is always the triple layered fudge cake that has been around forever that still draws us in. I hear they have a good breakfast bar for weekend brunch.

For the rest of the menu, the food is basic and harmless, if not too exiciting. One thing I will say - almost always the people that work there are down to earth people who treat you very friendly. It is what it is, and doesn't try to be something it's not.

Frisch's is very poor quality food. As a child I used to eat at Big boy all the time (another city)

I tried a burger and fries. In a word it is dog food. Soy in the burger and old fowl oil for the fries. I was shocked this place is in business. I could not eat it as I am not a dog.

Unfair treatment in the workplace. I have been an employee at Frischs since Oct of last year. I opened up the restaurant in Dayton, Ohio. I had been a certified trainer for most of my time there.

I have never worked at a restaurant where the management is so disrespectful to their employees and it is condoned by higher management. The employees of managements choice run the restaurant there. If you are an intelligent person that will not tolerate the disrespectfuness then you are at risk of losing your job. The staff at the Benchwood store do not care about the customers. All they care about is being in other employees personal lives and causing problems for them at work. The really sad part about the whole thing is that if you want to talk to cooperate office it is impossible to talk to anyone. It does not get past the regional manager which is part of the problem. I would never recommend any person to try to work for this restaurant. If you do, you might as well give up your pride because they will try to take it away. I didnt stand for it so therefore I was set up to be terminated.

Horrible place to work from the customers view--Dream Street Florence. YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING!! WITH THE WAY THAT THE ECONOMY IS TODAY AND WITH THE WAY THAT LOTS OF PEOPLE NEED JOBS I WAS HORROFIED TO BE A WITNESS TO THE WAY RESTARAUNT PEOPLE TREAT EACH OTHER. WE WERE AT THIS FRISCH'S ONE AFTERNOON FOR LUNCH. HAVING A NICE CONVERSATION AND ENJOYING THE ATMOSPHERE. A COUPLE NEAR US WAS SITTING NEXT TO THE SMOKING SECTION AND ASK THE WAITRESS IF THEY COULD MOVE TO A DIFFERENT TABLE. THE WAITRESS AGREED AND ASK THE CUSTOMERS TO PICK WHERE THEY WOULD LIKE TO SIT AND AS THE WAITRESS WAS MOVING THE CUSTOMERS ANOTHER WAITRESS STARTED CURSING AT THE OTHER WAITRESS. THE 2ND WAITRESS TOLD THE 1ST WAITRESS SHE HAVE NO F------ BUSINESS MOVING PEOPLE, SHE WAS NOT THE HOSTESS. THE CUSTOMERS WERE APPAULED AND REPORTED THE SITUATION. THE 2ND WAITRESS WAS SPOKEN TO BUT WAS ALLOWED TO REMAIN AT WORK. WHILE THE 1ST WAITRESS IN THE MEANTIME WAS DISCIPLINED FOR SOMEONE NOT PAYING THEIR CHECK!! WHAT HAPPENED TO CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WHY WASN'T THE CASHIER DOING HER JOB!! WHAT IS THE NEED FOR ALL THE PEOPLE WORKING THERE IF THE WAITRESS IS RESPONSIBLE FOR WELCOMING THE CUSTOMER, SEATING THE CUSTOMER, TAKING THE ORDER, PREPPING THE FOOD, SERVING THE FOOD, BUSING THE TABLE, AND MAKING SURE THE BILL IS PAID!! ALL THAT IS LEFT TO DO IS PREPARE THE FOOD. DOESN'T SEEM TO BE THE NEED FOR HOSTESSES, CASHIERS, BUSSERS, MANAGERS, PREP COOK OR SERVERS. FRISCH'S COULD SAVE LOTS OF MONEY AND MAYBE THE PRICES WOULD GO DOWN SOME. WITH ALL THE PROBLEM IN THE WORLD TODAY ISN'T IT SUCH A SHAME THAT A PERSON CAN'T START A NEW JOB TO FEED THEIR FAMILY AND THERFORE HELP WITH THE ECONOMY, WITHOUT BEING TREATED LIKE DIRT. AFTERALL WE ALL HAVE TO START SOMEWHERE!! NOT ALL THE FRISCH'S THAT I HAVE BEEN TO ARE THE SAME WAY, SO WHY IS THIS ONE ALLOWED TO TREAT THEIR EMPLOYEES SO CRAPPY!!

frishs. food is good, only problem I have had is a long wait for food. As a parent of a minor that works there, Frish's breaks all the laws. My child is asked to work till 11 pm on school nights, 10 is the cut off for minors. My child also works 7 days in a row at times, a minor cannot work and go to school and average more than a certain number of hours. No matter how many times we tell them this, they don't seem to care. Its all about bussiness.

I work at a company that also hires minors, and they are so strick about this. This is why I wouldn't eat at frish's anymore. If they don't follow the child labor laws, what else aint they following?

Not a place I would put on my, want to go list.. I am new to ohio and my friends go here sometimes.

I opted for the salad bar.

The lettuce had brown in it and the rest didnt look much better.

The waitress was nice and attentive....thats about all.

There's a fish in the coffee.. Frisch's Big Boy - once a crown jewel in Cincinnati's diverse culinary landscape, is now a dingy haven for lower middle class families that want to dine in a real restaurant but must settle for Frisch's. I've eaten there half a dozen times in the last two years and there are three things that Frisch's is NOT: hot, fresh and tasty. Bland food served cold is the norm at this unimpressive and squalid choke-and-puke. Didn't David Lynch film a movie in here? Or was it Tarantino? I kept expecting Tim Roth to rob us all.

FOOD WAS NASTY. I went to frisch's for the first time in YEARS and I agree, the food what not how I remember it. My husbands hamburger was so small you would have thought it was a Mcdonalds burger. We got kids meals and only got 2 chicken nuggets!!!!! What child is only going to eat 2 chicken nuggets? Thats a baby meal. And they didnt even come with toys. so we spent 3 something for 2 chicken nuggets and fries!!!! go easier on the potatoes and give some more meat!!!
