Great gay bar in clifton. Nice place to go have the occassional drink, great crowd all except for the one that says, Babe, you been working out. Most of the bar tenders are really nice. Really miss Mike, wish they'd bring him back, he was an asset to the bar. Keith, there is no other better then you and Scottie brings in a great crowd too. Miss bonnie the karaoke girl but will is doing an ok job.Hope the place hangs around in this side of town for a while
Make new friends or visit with some old pals under cover of darkness..
In Short
In the heart of the Gaslight District, expect plenty of aging hippies, college students, Gen X-ers and other free-thinking and freedom loving folks. Enjoy their daily happy hour, plus daily drink specials. That should fuel you up to hit the dance floor or mellow out watching the big screen TVs. There are choices galore at the jukebox, and on weekends the DJ booth comes alive with music for drag show and dancing.
It's a fusion bar!. Good ol' boy combined with gay ol' boy to make the best bar in the world! It's a total hole-in-the-wall (though quite clean I must add), out-of-the-way dive bar complete with juke box, pool table, TVs, race car video game, cheap drinks, and permanent fixture clients. HOWEVER, what seperates this dive bar from all others is that it is FABULOUS! The walls are all painted a lovely purple color, there is a small stage and dance floor opposite the pool table, the juke box is full of your favorite divas from yesterday and today, and they go ALL OUT for holiday decor! It is quite simply the best bar I have ever been to. Amen.
What can I Say. It's been over a year with the new Owner,Still the same old Golden Lions. Prices went up!! Maybe parking will be cheaper in Clifton soon.
It's Like paintin' up an Old Drag Queen. Under New Management? Looks like Old Old Management, And a new coat of paint. The place hasn't changed since the late 60's. Guess if I was new in town, or just got off the bus it would be ok.. for a minute.

There is quite a bit of work to be done in the men's restroom(and maybe the woman's too). There also needs to be some type of system to releive the stuffiness in the upstairs pool room. Brighten up the place by doing some repair work to the main room and using decorations(memorobilia, pictures, collectibles, etc...).
You guys do have good prices on drinks, friendly bar tenders and a great owner. I also like the fish tanks. You guys can make this a place to go instead of a place to be.
Great neighborhood bar.
Since new management has taken control, the bar has undergone a facelift. New lighting, bar stools and a fresh coat of paint has turned the Lions into a very comfortable place to hang out. Management ephasizes a "no attitude" policy that allows everyone to have a good time without any hassle. The sound system and Juke-box are maintained at a level that allows for conversation as well as musical enjoyment. Every other Friday there are shows that are among the best in Cincinnati. All told, one of the best bars in town.
P.S. The bathrooms have been completely refurbished and are almost too nice to use.
Check out the new look. Under new management and has a great new look. I you haven't beenstopped in for awhile, come in and check out the new look. Still the same friendly and unpretenious people, which a bright new and cleanup look.
what a mess. Unimpressive crowd, weak drinks and dank surroundings make this place worth skipping. Just another dive in this city's pathetic offering of gay bars.
