Unacceptable on SO MANY levels! No integrity!

I needed a black barbershop for my son, so I looked online to see what was available in the area. I found Darryl's Barbershop's website, and I was intrigued to learn that they claimed to offer a positive and Christian environment. They even claimed to be role models to the youth in the community. The website emphasized their "professionalism".

The first time we went, I had to touch up my son's haircut when we got home because there were scraggly hairs everywhere. Second time... same thing. It couldn't have been that they were busy, because the place was empty both times. Quite honestly, it was a DUMP. Hoping the third time would be a charm, I took my son in one more time. When we walked in, there was a rated-R movie, "Death Race", playing on their big screen TV... and there were at least four children under 10 watching it! A movie known for it's brutality, violence, and lewd language... in a "Christian" environment?

I asked them to stop the movie while my son was there, and the barber wouldn't even acknowledge me. I even apologized (!). Seeing that he was less than enthused about stopping the movie, and hoping to appeal to his sympathetic side, I told him we would wait outside until he took care of it. It was particularly cold that night, he saw that I didn't have a coat on, and I'm on oxygen, so I thought surely this would prompt him to do the right thing. We were left standing out there for about five minutes and that's all I could take. I went in and asked him if he was going to stop the movie. Again, he didn't even acknowledge me, so I turned to the owner and asked him. He looked at me like I was crazy. We had no choice but to leave.

• Cons: 1st POSTER IS THE OWNER, WHO WILL SAY ANYTHING TO PROMOTE HIS BUSINESS. I WOULDN'T HAVE EVEN GIVEN IT ONE STAR BUT THE SITE WOULDN'T ALLOW NO STARS.

The vision of an artist goes a long way.

What can I say. Randomly walked into Darryl's barbershop one day, got my cut, and have kept going back ever since. See for yourself. And if you walk in and there's a line, you can relax and watch what's playing on the big screen or listen to music that'll get you thinking. Highly recommended. Of course appointment work too.
