Missing MURPHY"S in Tenn..
MOVED TO CHATTANOOGA TN. OVER THREE YEARS AGO...HAVEN'T FOUND A PLACE THAT COMES CLOSE...ONLY GET ID'D IN PLACES THAT HAVE COVER CHARGES... I MISS THE PRICES, 6 $ A SHOT(MEASURED) FOR CUERVO HERE SUCKS...BARS HEAR ONLY HAVE POOL OR DARTS AND I HAVEN'T SEEN A FOOSBALL TABLE SINCE MURPHY'S.
I ALSO MISS BEER OF THE MONTH... IN THE SOUTH IT BUD OR BUD LIGHT... ANY CHANCE OF FRANCHISE?
Murphy's Pub Review. With 2 bars, a covered patio, and multiple games, Murphy's is a great place to grab a drink. There are multiple flatscreen TVs, 2 pool tables, a foosball table, and multiple dart boards. There is always free popcorn, and free hot dogs during Reds games.
pathetic death trap. this place is sad sad sad. They cater to a group of aout three regulars and don't care about the remainder of the business. tend to fire any employee's of actual worth. And have an elitist attitude that tends to make one wish for . . . well . . . people of worth. If you are looking for fun enjoyment, or decent people, look somewhere else
Cheers!. Best corner bar atmosphere in Cincinnati! Good service, great prices.
Best local Irish joint in Cincinnati.
Murphy's is where you go to for a close knit community drinking experience. It's also where fights erupt and guns get shot but hey its the Nati and every place is like that.
In short its as safe as any pub and its as friendly as the place its located in. If you can love the area you can fit right in at Murphy's. They have Killians on tap at the front bar, yet the rear bar is usually less crowded so go there for shots or mixed drinks. Also do not start a tab, it's likely you'll spend way to much money... at least I do.
Horrible service, avoid at all costs!.
I had always heard okay things about Murhpy's Pub & finally decided to try it out one night. Immediately upon arriving, I was ID'd (completely normal) and then given A LOT of disrespect, which I was not used to. The bouncer had WAY too much attitude (even given his job title) & once I was free to get a drink, the service was horrible. I had bartenders pass me by numerous times without so much as a glance. At least in other bars I get a "I'll be right with you" or another reassuring remark. After waiting MORE than 10 minutes, I gave my order for a Bud Light bottle (not too demanding) and proceeded to wait ANOTHER 8 minutes (yes, I counted) before getting my drink. When I FINALLY got my drink, it was so warm that I almost poured it onto the floor of the bar. I made a comment to the bartender (after waiting 5 minutes to get his attention) and his answer was something to the extent of "If you keep complaining I'll find plenty of other people that are willing to pay for any beer at all." At this point, my friends & I had realized that Murphy's was definitely NOT worth the effort or the wait so we decided to leave. Now I know people might think that uptown Cincinnati (or Clifton) is fairly safe, but I can say that without a doubt that I felt VERY uncomfortable after seeing THREE cop cars surrounding 2 men (1 of which was holding a gun) and later finding out that the 2 men were convicted for violating major laws relating to the trafficking of illegal substances.
After this incident it should be clear to EVERYONE that Murphy's is not only a lame place to hang out, it is also in an extremely dangerous location.
blah. if you like blah places, that are totally cramped, and leave you nothing better to do than stand up and drink with whoever you came in with (since it's *impossible* to meet anybody) then come on in
Go here!. This is a fun, laid back place. The happy hour is the best with cheap drink prices till 9pm!
Best Overall Clifton Bar. Murphy's is defenately the best bar overall bar in Clifton. You may have other personal 'favorites', but this place can't be much further down the list. The bar is a bit rambling, but that makes for a lot of room. There's 2 pool tables, 4-5 dart boards, a foosball area, golden tee and plenty of seating. It's even got an outdoor area a la Christy's (although not quite as elaborate or nice). While Christy's is generally the place to be in the summer, Murphy's grabs that title the rest of the year (or when it's too damn muggy!). This all weather oasis has good amenities, layout and staff, which makes it my favorite all round.
