What People Are Saying About Pomodori's Pizzeria

In Short – The location next to the University of Cincinnati campus draws a high concentration of pizza-lovin' students. The usual professionals can't resist the wood-fired specialties and salads, either. The oven is on display, so you can watch them make your dinner. The wood-fired pizzas are smaller pies with a smoky flavor in the crisp crust. In addition to the hand-tossed crust, the menu offers creations like the prosciutto pizza with red onions and pressed garlic, seafood broccoli, and clams with green onion and roasted red pepper.
Worst Service in town

We have been eating at Pomodori's Pizza in Clifton for 15 years. It is always been one of our favorites. Tonight was a terrible dining experience. Our waitress was rude and unattentive. We were ignored all evening. She did not know the menu items, dropped the pizza at our table, and brought dirty plates about 5 minutes later.
We ordered a bottle of wine, which our waitress did not ask if we wanted to taste. We did not care for it, and asked if it could be exchanged for something else. She said the manager said no. The manager never came to check on us. We sent the wine back and were charged for it.
The pizza was OK, a little greasy and had some unusual green stringy things on a pepperoni pizza. We will not go back, and I suspect they will be out of business soon.
HORRIBLE experience

Unbelievable experience. Went there at 6:00 on a Thursday with my husband, toddler, and niece and nephew. We waited over 30 minutes for 2 salads and some garlic bread. Didn't see our server the whole time, drinks sat empty. Waited another 40 minutes for 2 small pizzas and a meatball sandwich. I went to the bathroom and saw my pizzas sitting, waiting to be picked up. Came back, they were still there. Went to ask what was going on, and my server saw me coming and disappeared. Asked for the manager, who was quite rude. Promised my food would be out in 5 minutes. 5 minutes later, sandwich comes but no pizzas. Waited another 10 minutes and walked out.
- Pros: none
It's amazing they're still open

I went to this place a few days ago because I had heard that the wood fired pizzas were the greatest. I was encouraged to see "best pizza of the year" awards on the wall when I ordered, but boy was I disappointed when it came to my table. First of all, it took almost a half hour, and all I ordered was a roma and basil wood fire. It had burn marks all around the edges and the bottom, and I'm pretty sure the tomatoes had been marinating in their own rotten juices for days.
We also never got refills for our drinks, my buddy said his pasta noodles tasted soggy and undercooked and the alfredo was tasteless - to make it all the more unbearable, we had to put up with some crappy seventies music that I can't imagine anybody in a college town would ever want to hear. Where's the Jimmy Hendrix? The pot hole on the way out of the parking lot is the final nail in the coffin; I'm never going back there again, and neither should you. These people seriously need to get their act together. New management? Hello?
- Pros: Nothin'
- Cons: Bad food, terrible service, bad atmosphere
Pomodori's lacks quality
by JTDavis at Citysearch
It made me sad to see a local Clifton restaurant go so far downhill so quickly. In previous years I had always had good service and at least adequate food at Pomodori’s. However, the last time I ordered it was in the evening after work. I got fettuccini alfredo that appeared to have been cooked either very early in the morning or the day before. It was so disgusting that I could not manage to eat any of it, and merely threw it in the trash. Their prices are far too high (it cost 14.00) to be serving food that is such a low quality. To anyone craving Italian I recommend shopping around, there are far better restaurants.
- Pros: None. Too bad I can't score lower than a 1 star.
- Cons: Terrible food.
Bad Food, Bad Service
by ConcernedCliftonite at Citysearch
The food took FOREVER! Our drinks were empty the entire night, there were only two other people in the dining room and it just took forever to get anything. Then, when the food came, the pizza was somehow burnt, but still cold?! and it seemed like the ravioli and the salads were wading in a pool of ice water. Just overall, not good!!
- Pros: None
- Cons: Gross food and bad service
