Hours of Operation.
Hey all,
the hours of operation are as follows, and they haven't changed in a long time:
Sunday & Monday; Jay-the best Barista in town, works all NIGHT from 5pm-2:30am!
The store opens at 5pm every day except for major holidays!
Tuesday-Saturday you have (5pm-2:30am) a small group of awesome baristas as well.
I'd go into details but you all should make the place a second home and get to know the workers and the people-both are great.
YOu can go there to study, socialize, drink, read a book/relax, all over a wonderful brew or house coffee!

Great place to chill.
A very relaxed environment. Jay, the weeknight bartender, is 95% of the reason to be there, he's a great guy. You have the ability to have a full conversation or study quietly by yourself. Great music that doesn't overpower the scene of the business.

Great Atmosphere.
This is a great place to chill and relax. The weeknight server, Jay, can be kind of slow with refills, but if you're just having a cup of coffee, refills are self-serve. WiFi is now available, which means if you happen to need a good place to study, this may be it. The neighborhood can be a little sketchy, so don't leave your car unlocked. During the winter, the coffee house tends to be a bit chilly, so you'll want to wear a sweater. Winter hours are from 5pm - 2:30 on week nights. Friday nights are really busy - almost like a popular bar. During the summer, the back patio is open and is a nice place to (perhaps) have a date - if that's what you're looking for. Overall a great place to go.

Correct the hours.
Highland is a great coffee house, but the listed hours of 5 am to 1 am are way off. I just called at 1:30 pm on a Saturday, and they said they don't open until 5 pm today.

Get comfortable with friends while sitting on one of the well-worn couches..
The Scene
Remember the days before designer lattes were the rage and coffee purveyors weren't on every corner? Highland Coffee House was in business then and it remains a mecca for Cincinnati coffee mavens to this day. It's also a good place to come alone to read the paper and warm up with a Guinness or spiked coffee. The Highland draws a lot of University of Cincinnati students, especially late at night, but adults, especially professors, like it too.
The Menu
The menu is limited but good, with a heavy emphasis on vegetarian sandwiches and salads. Sandwiches include cream cheese and cucumber, tomato and mozzarella, hummus and Swiss cheese, and peanut butter, honey and banana. In addition to coffee, the Highland is famous for its milkshakes, some of which include alcohol. For a real jolt, the Orgasm blends amaretto, creme de cacao, triple sec and vodka with vanilla ice cream.

oh yeah!.
The Highland Coffeehouse is actually open 2pm to 2am, contrary to the hours given by citysearch. It's a great place to go hang out with a couple of friends or get some work done. It's the type of place where a lot of people go alone, so you can feel comfortable going solo. The prices are pretty good, and Jay (the weeknight server) is a really cool guy.
