Still craving Thai Express... Great place to grab lunch/dinner. When I come back to Cincy, I take my wife there. We grab lunch to go and then off to Belleview Park for the view. I often ate there when attending the University. Once I was sick and the owner made me a special dinner - it cleared my sinuses immediately. Who needs a prescription when you have Thai Express! Good food and great people - wish I could transplant them here to Atlanta.

Beware to those who wish to dine in - Carry out only!. This is an authentic Thai joint that I have been going to for years. The location is a little less than ideal, but great for pedestrians and students. However, I continue to make the trek from Hyde Park because I think the freshness and authenticity of the food is not rivaled by my local competition... yes, I said that. The prices are OUTSTANDING for the portions and the quality that you receive. By far, this is one of the best kept secrets in the city. Small, hot and maybe still only accepting cash, this place is one of a kind!

Good Thai Street Food & Good Value plus- Green Papaya. MnM Cincinnati Authentic Thai tasting food search. Our reviews of Cincinnati area Thai resturants or places that advertise Thai cusine is focused only on the taste of the food. Our credentials: Mark lived in Thailand for 10 years, 4 in the US Peace Corps. Mai is from Thailand & cooks amazing Thai food.

In terms of taste, Thai Express gets their Thai street food right and the prices are fair, especially as you are restriceted to stir fried Thai entres. The same stir fried entres at Teak ThaiHouse or Apsara will cost you double the prices of Thai Express & chances are those two establishments will dumb down the flavors. Thai condiments are available if you konw what to ask for.

Because Citysearch does not list it, we need to recommend another, resturant in Hyde Park called Green Papaya. Green Papaya has more than Thai street food and they are making the mels correctly! The tastes and smells are authentic & even the farang (westerner) waiter knew what we were talking about when we asked questions about the food. Try the minced chicken or steak salad, the som tom- spicy not sweet. And they do a good fish entre. At GP, if they give you creamy sauces, these are not Thai. you need to ask for the Thai sauces.

At both Thai Express & Green Papaya there were no Thai condiments on the tables BUT you could request them. They DO NOT have trouble getting food spicy as ordered. They get it right! Thai Ex is a walk in, order & carry out / order by phone. GP is a sit down & packed on the weekend nights. Best to call.

Signs that you might be in a real Thai cuisine place: A) pictures of the King & Queen. B) Thai condiments- if not on the table, available: fresh cut chilies in vinegar, fresh cut chilies in fish sauce, & dried crushed chilies. C) Served w/ spoon & fork- no knives as they are not required for Thai food. Chop sticks only if eating a noodle dish. D) "Cow neow" or sticky rice- though this is tough to find.

Goodluck- MnM

Wonderful authentic Thai food.. This is my favorite restaurant in Clifton. Just about everything they make is the best I've ever had. I love watching the staff laugh and joke as they prepare the meals, It makes the food taste even better somehow. I don't reccomend planning to dine-in however. They only have room for two tables with uncomfortable stools.
