What People Are Saying About Floyd's-Cincinnati Restaurant

In Short – Why is the best Lebanese food in Cincinnati found at a tiny diner named Floyd's? Because the signs were already made when the family changed the restaurant's concept. What Floyd's lacks in authentic atmosphere, it makes up for with good food. Those in the know make special trips here for the spit-roasted chicken with lemon-oregano seasoning. It's best enjoyed with Mediterranean side dishes such as smoky babaghanoush or creamy hummus tahini dip with pita bread.

extremely rude owner but food is great

by lime tea12 at Citysearch

unless are a regular do not count on geting anything listed on the menue because the kitchen is alway running out of everything. The owner screams constantly and is insanely rude.

on the bright side of things all of the food is amazing especially the rotisserie chicken but If you intend to eat their call at least 3 hours before dinner service and get take out so the kitchen dosnt run out and you dont have to put up with the rude service.

Horrible and Rude

by bamacdon at Citysearch

We called in a carry out order for lunch. The woman who took our order on the phone was rude. When we went in to pick it up she charged us different prices than the ones listed on their website. Then charged us for extra food we did not order and refused to give us our money back. I would never give this restaurant my business again.

A Cincinnati treasure

by ragwad at Citysearch

One of the hidden gems of Ciny dining. A hole-in-the wall cafe located in the Clifton neighborhood across from the University of Cincinnati (125 Calhoun), this family-owned restaurant is outstanding. The rightly titled "Floyd's Special" is the finest rotisserie chicken this diner has eaten - ever. Fork tender meat with a crisp, savory seasoned skin, it takes the modest chicken to startling heights. The other offerings are equally memorable. The baba ghanough balances the garlicy, lemony, and smokey aspects of this dip beautifully. A surprising taste treat for the American palate is the lima beans - don't be put off by the memory of your mother's bland side dish - they are simply delightful. And then there is the dessert. Try the Lebanese pancakes, crepes filled with a sweet cheese and doused in a light syrup. Creamy, mildly sweet, with a spiced hint of the perfumed orient.

As a poor student a decade ago, this writer frequented Floyd's weekly. Returning as a visitor to Cincinnati, my memory proves untainted by nostalgia - it really is as good as I remembered. You won't be disappointed.
