Mole's, Circa Can't Remember
by jbharuch at Citysearch
Mole's was originally there on Vine Street back in the day when Bogarts blasted EvErYnIgHt and you could hear a wildcard band 365 nights a year at Sudsy Malone's Rock 'n Roll Laundry & Bar (Ush, fergot me laundry).
Sometimes Sudsy's band'd be crap (probably because that was before I had a clue about Punk), Sometime's you'd hear a magician playing boneshaking blues on a steel drum.
After that I'd anchor at Cory's, Specially when H-Bomb Ferguson was playing. He was way freaking off the top knot. Mole's was (is) a keystone. Walk into the archives of any library: . It ain't about cashflow. It's about Belief and protecting the past. Thoughtful change is always necessary ; )
Heavy On Charm, Light On Product

I need to clafiy that what is meant by "the largest number of records NOT for sale" is that the owner has a most impressive selection (including a 2nd state "butcher cover", also not for sale) that seems to be collecting dust while waiting for it to be put into inventory... GET ON IT!!! People, like myself, want to give you money for your merchandise not hear that we'll have to come back and talk to the owner. While there, I heard how many things in the store were not for sale due to their need to create atmosphere. Aren't you in business to make money? Clean up your show room and quit using it as a storage den for your personal belongings/ collections and the decline in business I overheard customers and employees talking about will be a thing of the past. That being said, the place is a very, very cool record shop with plenty of charm and history to spare. It, like Charlie Brown's Christmas tree, just needs a little love. I WILL GO BACK!!!
- Pros: Great Location
- Cons: The largest number of records NOT for sale
