The Scene
The Gardens opened in 1949, with Maurice "The Rocket" Richard and his Montreal Canadiens playing. Since then, the venue has had a long history as a hockey venue, most recently hosting the Mighty Ducks of the AHL. In addition to minor and major league hockey, the Gardens has hosted basketball, boxing, soccer, roller derby, karate championships and swimming exhibitions. Among the legendary entertainers to grace its stage are Elvis, the Beatles, Madonna and Michael Jackson
