The Scene
Once a chic clothing shop, the space is now a serene and relaxed place for lunch and dinner. Two walls have ceiling-to-floor windows, which afford diners a view of busy Edwards Road, where shoppers come and go. Tables are dressed in white linen and topped with white paper and two fat crayons for doodling to your heart's delight.
The Food
What to order from the uniquely different menu? No moo goo gai pan or chop suey here. Instead, dumplings and oodles of noodles (which, according to Chinese people, symbolize longevity), plus salads and vegetables, Szechuan and Hunan specialties, and daily luncheon specials. Singapore rice noodles are a mound of thin noodles cooked with big, fat shrimp and seasoned with curry-garlic sauce. But if you'd rather go meatless, opt for the Szechwan green beans, garlicky and great with steamed rice.
