A Good Meal. I ate at Indigo recently and had a great meal. The Cajun Cream and the breadsticks were the best ever, and the service was friendly and quick.
Jerk. i use to work to there and a the manager is a creep, trying to have sex with EVERY female that works there....... not to mention a friend of mines went there one time and never went back. she complained that some guy just stared at her the entire time, she tried to eat her meal....im not suprised, it was the manager.
Too bad service ruins the good food. I've been going to Indigo for years, and my last visit will be my last time. Met a friend for an 8 p.m. dinner and while we were eating, they are putting chairs up on tables, turning the lights up and asking if we wanted separate checks. We asked if they were in a hurry to get out, and the response was 'we do close at 9, but take your time.' When we left, neither of the staff acknowledged us leaving. I will be sure to tell anyone I can about how bad their service is.
Great Local Food, but Consistent SUB-PAR Service....
Let me get this out of the way first. My wife and I have always enjoyed going to Indigo for very reasonably priced Italian style entrees. I love the large list of vegetarian items, as well as the meat infused stromboli's on the menu.
Our issue is not the food, however. Time and time again our dining experience is tainted by inattentive service staff. During this last visit, something as simple as refilling our water (which didn't happen the entire 45 minutes we were seated at our table) or just pleasantly asking us if our dinner was alright was something of an afterthought for the staff.
Unfortunately we won't be returning to Indigo unless we are using gift certificates purchased online.
Indigo = Good Eats Terse treats.
I was there a couple months ago. Simply the best breadsticks I have ever, EVER, had. The Marinara sauce was phenominal. The main course was cooked beautifully; a lovely meat with oddly named mushrooms. The waiter was congenial, but not up to par with the quality of the food. Going there tonight, will hopefully repeat the food experience, and report a better attitude.
Good Eats,
Derek
Bad service!. I went for the first time last night, and I wasn't expecting too much. I heard the food was great, but I was greatly disappointed. My boyfriend's calzone wasn't fully cooked with globs of uncooked dough. I got stuffed pasta with vodka sauce. It wasn't vodka sauce at all, rather it was alfredo sauce. When I told the waiter, he said it was too late to cook another dish, and knowing that this was our first time, he said "how would you know if it was vodka sauce or not--it's your first time being here". I was very insulted and asked to speak to a manager, in which he said "we're about to close...sorry". The service was horrible, and the food was made incorrectly and poorly. We're definitely not coming back
Best Food under $15. I read over the other review and my 3 experiences have been nothing like they described. The food is wonderful and my servers were friendly and attentive. With a place this affordable and tasty I wouldn't give up for 1 bad night.
Unbelieveably terrible customer service. I had one of the worst dining experiences ever at this restaurant. It has notoriously bad service, but I have continued to return because the food was so good. I will never be back, however, due to the fact that not only did it take over 10 minutes to get a drink, over 30 minutes to get an appetizer, and my dinner came out wrong, TWICE, I was appalled to see that when I returned my food and told the person who had taken my order that it was wrong, she tried to get me to eat it anyway, acted as though I was ridiculous for not accepting it, rolled her eyes at me, and DIDN'T APOLOGIZE!! To make things worse, I came to find out that this woman was the owner! I could not believe a restaurant owner would treat a customer so badly, and not even apologize when it was her mistake. I am not a ridiculous person, in fact I work in the restaurant business, and would never even think of treating a customer in such a way, especially nor would the management. I have never complained about a restaurant before, but I thought people should know what to expect from this place, and I could obiviously not remedy the situation by contacting management, since it was the owner with the dispicable customer service and behavior. I reccommend no one to ever go there, nomatter how good the food.
AVOID NIGHTS RUN BY MANAGER SCOTT MORSE. IF YOU WANT YOUR DELICIOUS FOOD RUINED BY SERVICE--ESPECIALLY MANAGER SCOTT MORSE AND A RUDE STAFF--THEN BY ALL MEANS TRY THIS ONE.
Fresh menu and fresh atmosphere!.
In a city that is not, in my opinion, known for its unique restaurant options, Indigo Casual Gourmet stands out as one the best places to go for a twist on everyday eats. Located just off Hyde Park Square, Indigo offers intimate dining both indoors and out. Both the restaurant and the menu are unprententious yet inviting. Yes, this means that the dining room and patio can get jam packed on a warm summer or weekend evening. And yes, there are so many options to choose from that you can feel overwhelmed by the menu.
However, the fact that Indigo goes out of its way to make you feel comfortable trumps any con it may have. The staff is always friendly and willing to make suggestions. You can enjoy a glass of wine or a beer while you wait for your table - both indoors and out. And the menue choices mean that you can create your own personal favorite. Mine happens to be the house tomato sauce with goat cheese, chicken and dried cranberries on spinach fettuccine. And the warm homemade foccacia bread on the side is the cat's meow.
If you are new to the area or are looking for a new favorite eatery, I highly recommend Indigo.
