The Scene – The Hyde Park location is situated just off the Square, and offers a colorful, cozy dining room. Diners can enjoy the view of the Square, or observe the goings-on in the kitchen through a convenient window. A pretty outdoor plaza is also available during warm weather or for die-hard smokers. – – The Food – Indigo's menu is creative without pretension. The wide variety of pastas, pizzas, calzones, sandwiches and salads becomes even more varied with the "create your own" options. Goodies like sun dried cranberries, fresh basil, peppered turkey,…
Too bad service ruins the good food

I've been going to Indigo for years, and my last visit will be my last time. Met a friend for an 8 p.m. dinner and while we were eating, they are putting chairs up on tables, turning the lights up and asking if we wanted separate checks. We asked if they were in a hurry to get out, and the response was 'we do close at 9, but take your time.' When we left, neither of the staff acknowledged us leaving. I will be sure to tell anyone I can about how bad their service is.
Great Local Food, but Consistent SUB-PAR Service...

Let me get this out of the way first. My wife and I have always enjoyed going to Indigo for very reasonably priced Italian style entrees. I love the large list of vegetarian items, as well as the meat infused stromboli's on the menu.
Our issue is not the food, however. Time and time again our dining experience is tainted by inattentive service staff. During this last visit, something as simple as refilling our water (which didn't happen the entire 45 minutes we were seated at our table) or just pleasantly asking us if our dinner was alright was something of an afterthought for the staff.
Unfortunately we won't be returning to Indigo unless we are using gift certificates purchased online.
- Pros: Eclectic Menu including many Vegetarian Dishes
- Cons: Horrible horrible horrible wait-staff.
Indigo = Good Eats Terse treats

I was there a couple months ago. Simply the best breadsticks I have ever, EVER, had. The Marinara sauce was phenominal. The main course was cooked beautifully; a lovely meat with oddly named mushrooms. The waiter was congenial, but not up to par with the quality of the food. Going there tonight, will hopefully repeat the food experience, and report a better attitude.
Good Eats,
Derek
- Pros: Excellent preparation, excentric maybe even quaint surroundings depending on indoor and outdoor seating.
- Cons: a little pricey, sometime pretentious, and moody employees.
