In response to a comment made. My dad is the owner of this buiness and I was really upset when I saw this. I know this lady and I'll tell you what ... my dad paid her $300 cash after spending about $100 worth of time and labor into her boots. What happened was she came to us with boots that would not fit on her calfs. My dad being the super nice guy he was tried to help her out and get her what she needed. It turned out that we had no possible way of making the calves big enough in the Prada boots to fit her leg. It is unbelievable how unappreciative people are. The shoe business is a tough business. It involves lots of chemicals and dyes that are extremely unheatlhy to be around and does not provide high wages. We do the best we can for our customers and for this lady to get $300 from my dad (which he didn't have to do for her) and then to turn around and write a negative review, that is unbelievable. It would have been a good job except for the fact that her calves were too big to fit into the boots even with the alterations he made. Very dissapointing and I'm glad this lady is no longer a customer ... she doesn't deserve a good repair shop like the one my dad was put his heart and soul into for 27 years.

OUTSTANDING!!!. This is by far one of my favorite places and I am so thankful it is 5 mts from my house. Why is this place so wonderful?

1) The people that work there are so nice and customer service oriented.

2) The service both in terms of turnaround and workmanship is superb!

3) The price to replace heels or fix soles is a minimal price to pay instead of buying completely new shoes.

I would highly recommend this place to anyone who needs shoes, boots, or any leathergoods refurbished to look like new.

Raving Fan!

unprofessional. I agree with the last reviewer on the lack of professionalism. I found this place to do generally good work on routine repairs but the staff are a bit "rough around the edges" for a nice part of town where people bring high end shoes for repair. I have witnessed the owner having loud disagreements with customers and as a customer having nothing to do with these issues, I found this to be highly unprofessional. I then myself became the subject of loud, agressive ramblings and false accusations over a misunderstanding. To make a long story short, I was told that a pair of shoes could be adjusted, damage was done to the shoe in order to make those adjustments but ultimately the shoe did not fit and I was out a lot of money based on my reliance on the experts. I did come to an agreement with the establishment to resolve the situation but in the process was treated in a completely inappropriate, hostile manner which made me extremely uncomfortable. This is no way to treat any customer, much less a repeat customer. I will never go back and endure such treatment again.

Lost Business. I wear a shoe lift because my left leg is shorter than the right one. I had been using Mt Lookout Shoe Repair for about 5 years without any issues. I was paying about $35-40 per shoe every time I had a lift put on. I recently went in there and I was informed that the price was now $70. They basically doubled the price. When I asked about why they increased the price, the attendant said, "Basically, because we can". I would have accepted a different answer, such as the price of the materials has gone up, or we hired someone new who is more skilled. But raising the price because "we can" was a horrible response to give to someone who has been a loyal customer for 5 years. I've probably put at least $500 dollars of work in to them over those five years. But because of poor customer service and no apparent reasoning behind doubling their pricing, I've decided to not do business with them anymore. The attendant responded further to imply that they are basically the only shoe repair around which justifies them doing anything they want with the pricing. That's not how you treat people that have been doing business with you for long periods of time. I could understand a small increase in price, but double made no sense, especially without a justifiable reason behind it. This place does good work, but the business is poorly managed with arbitrary price hikes and customer service people who say things they shouldn't. I went online and bought a shoe lift insert, so I won't need an exterior lift anymore, and so I won't be doing business with them anymore. They've been fired.
