Tips for Don Pablo's Mexican Kitchen

Margaritas and affordable Mexican fare in a campy, family-friendly atmosphere.. In Short
Bright colors and big booths make this quick-service, sit-down Mexican restaurant a cheery choice for group outings. The traditional menu--including classic enchiladas, soft and crispy tacos, mesquite-grilled shrimp, sizzling fajita platters and made-from-scratch salsas--features lunch specials, create-your-own combinations and to-go options for more fast-paced patrons. Tequila makes its appearance in house margaritas and cocktails. Bringing the little ones? They're catered to with a kid-friendly, Tex-Mex menu.

can be a good value. We recently went to Don Pablo's on Madison Road on a Monday night. We had a coupon plus they were doing their anniversary dinner special. We had to wait a bit to get seated, not because they were really busy but just because no one was around at the front to seat us. I noticed that other customers after us had the same problem.

Our server was very prompt with refills and bringing more chips and salsa as needed. We had an appetizer, entrees and dessert and there was good timing in between bringing out each course.

The food itself was decent and better than I expected. I was nervous to go after reading some of the reviews, particularly those about the Newport, KY location. There are definately more authentic, tastier Mexican places around but overall it was good for a chain. The flautas appetizer was much better than the taquitos and the sopapillas were a nice way to end the meal.

We got a ton of food with leftovers at a good price, so that made the trip worth it.
