In 1971, the ambitious students of Xavier University launched a ten-watt, student-run radio station that began with closed-circuit dormitory broadcasts. Over the next 30 years, the vision of WVXU blossomed into a group of stations known as the X-Star Radio Network, with locations in Ohio, Indiana and Michigan. Today, WVXU is the flagship station of the network, broadcasting one of the most unusual and diverse program schedules in public radio.
