The Scene – Plan your reservation at sunset, when Primavista offers one of the best dining views in Cincinnati. In daylight, the view includes industrial areas, and the restaurant's dated decor is obvious. When darkness falls, however, you won't see the first and you won't care about the latter. – – The Food – Meals lean toward the rich end of Italian cuisine. Three antipasti selections stand out: carpaccio Parmigiano, fried calamari and artichoke hearts, snails and shiitake mushrooms in a creamy Gorgonzola sauce. Veal is a specialty; broiled tuna with a balsamic…

amazing view, excellent food, perfect service

by thebrats

My husband and I happened upon Primavista a few years ago and have been a few times now on special occasions. The atmosphere and view are extremely romantic. The service was perfect. Our waitress timed our appetizer, salads, entrees and dessert perfectly and was extremely helpful. We will definately eat here again!! Make sure you have reservations (at dusk is best) and follow the directions on their website!!

Sloppy Pushy Service, Innattentive Table Staff, WRONG ORDERS! Cooked WRONG!

by M2HB

Went for an exciting News Years Eve, Late seating at 9:45. The Menu was limited to ten entrees due to the capacity crowd in and out all night long; no problem, they have many wonderful entrees on the menu. I'm a long time customer and know the excellent quality standard they can attain. Until last night! We were a party of four, the wait staff seemed very impatient and pushy to get our otder: no wine or cocktail choice offered, tried to push us directly to the Entrees which we thought was a bit strange. We wanted to relax, have a drink, converse over an appetizer then on to an excellent dinner, They weren't having that! And the bread, oil and roasted garlic spread was an afterthought! Lucky we even got it. Well the food arrived with one Entree totally wrong! Ordered the excellent Lamb (pricey item at $36) what we received was a steak! No way, sent it back, waited almost 20 minutes for the Lamb and when it came out it was almost raw in places and very unevenly cooked; we had ordered medium and very light on the gorgonzola; it came smothered in cheese! Besides everyone else at the table was done eating by the time the mistaken order arrived. About the only thing I can recommend is the coffee! The "Veni, Vidi, Vici" was excellent but the dessert was stale! I'm a long time customer, when someone asks me about 5 star type restaurants Prima Vista will not be the first one to be recommended as I have in the past. To add insult to injury they did not even take the initiative to to get the owner or anyone to at least say "sorry"! If you want to spend $300 on a fine meal and excellent service you WON'T find it at Prima Vista.

  • Pros: Go when it's not crowded MAYBE service will be good
  • Cons: Go when it's not crowed MAYBE service will be good

Excellent Atmosphere and Consistently Good Food

by mdpfirrman

I don't usually spend a lot of money on Italian. If I do, it had better be good. Primavista is a treat we as a family of four give ourselves occasionally. I also have taken my wife there for anniversaries as well but my teenage kids love it as well. Service is excellent and food has been outstanding. On my son's birthday, he got the bread pudding and said without question it was the best dessert he had ever had at a restaurant.

One of my favorite Italian restaurants in town. I like others better for family value, but for romance or special occasion, this is hard to beat. View is magnificant.

  • Pros: View, setting, food, service
  • Cons: Good for occasionally splurging
