Editorial Review for Primavista – by Carrie Clark
The Scene
Plan your reservation at sunset, when Primavista offers one of the best dining views in Cincinnati. In daylight, the view includes industrial areas, and the restaurant's dated decor is obvious. When darkness falls, however, you won't see the first and you won't care about the latter.
The Food
Meals lean toward the rich end of Italian cuisine. Three antipasti selections stand out: carpaccio Parmigiano, fried calamari and artichoke hearts, snails and shiitake mushrooms in a creamy Gorgonzola sauce. Veal is a specialty; broiled tuna with a balsamic vinaigrette, portobello, Gorgonzola and sun-dried tomatoes is also very good and best ordered rare. For dessert, the homemade bread pudding with caramel sauce, Marsala-soaked raisins and whipped cream is magnificent.

I don't usually spend a lot of money on Italian. If I do, it had better be good. Primavista is a treat we as a family of four give ourselves occasionally. I also have taken my wife there for anniversaries as well but my teenage kids love it as well. Service is excellent and food has been outstanding. On my son's birthday, he got the bread pudding and said without question it was the best dessert he had ever had at a restaurant. One of my favorite Italian restaurants in town. I like others better for family value, but for romance or special occasion, this is hard to beat. View is magnificant.
Pros: View, setting, food, service
Cons: Good for occasionally splurging

I was very pleased with the restaurant and the overall atmosphere. I went for an anniversary and loved the romantic environment. Even in December the view from the restaurant was amazing and even from the tables towards the rear, which are directed towards the view. The food was very good as well as the service. They had a good wine list and their house salads were magnificent. I would higly recommend it to anyone for a date or celebration or to see Cincinnati from a different view.
Pros: romantic, good service, great view
Cons: hard to get to
