The nation's first paid fire department displays its history with kid-friendly, hands-on exhibits.. In Short
Cincinnati lays claim to having the first paid fire department, as well as the first steam-powered fire engine. All of that history, as well currently pertinent lessons in fire prevention and safety, are here for the learning. Among its interactive exhibits, children can slide down a fire pole or test their ability to pump water like early firefighters used to. The museum also offers facilities and entertainment for children's birthday parties.
