Shakespeare -- and some others -- as it was meant to be performed.. Just Like William Used to Do
This intimate, 185-seat space seats audience on three sides of the performance area, and boasts acoustics so good you can hear a whisper on stage from the back row. CSF is modeled on Shakespeare's original troupe, and its stage facade on Shakespeare's original Globe Theater. Ten to 15 of the best young Shakespearean actors from around the country perform all the roles in a seven-show season each year.

Absence of Pretensions
CSF, the fastest-growing arts organization in Cincinnati, performs without stilted English accents; without tedious speechifying; without doublets and tights. It's Shakespeare's text brought into a modern context: clothes you can relate to, speech patterns resembling your own, fast pacing, and above all, accessibility. Recently, CSF has also begun experimenting with modern plays not by the Bard.
