Honesty and expertise - can' ask for more. I've been taking my two Saab's to Dan for 3+ years and have been consistently impressed with his honesty, transparency and expertise. I'd previously owned Saab's in Toronto and Boston and when moving to Cincinnati was worried about finding a mechanic who was both a Saab expert and whom I could trust. Dan greatly exceeded my expectations and is by far the best mechanic I've worked with in 15 years of owing Saabs. Excellent. Extremely happy with the service that danny provided from the quote to picking the car up and everything inbetween. I have never liked taking my car to a shop because I do most the work myself and never fully trust the job that is done by others but i have no doubts about the quality of work done. If you have a volvo this is your place, don't mess with the dealer because they will overcharge for the same parts that you will get here and you will get the knowlege that they can provide at Jim Stephens. I am extremely happy with my experience and will no doubt only use them in the future for major work.…
Excellent Service - Only fixes what is broken.
I've met several Saab owners over the past 2 years that stopped me to ask about my car. When I asked where a good mechanic is, they all recommend Danny at Stephen's Foreign Car Svc.
I took my 2004 9-3 Aero in today for an oil change and to have a couple of problems checked out. Danny gave me an honest assessment of a noise I was hearing this winter that may be related to cold weather and suggested no additional repairs. He also looked at my fuel gauge problem, gave me an estimate but didn't pressure me to have the costly repair and almost seemed to be recommending against it. He gave a thorugh and honest assessment of the condition of other wearable parts... brakes were good... needs new tires in a few thousand miles (even though he doesn't sell tires)... etc.
I've never had this honest treatment from a mechanic before. Most places like to give you a menu of additional things you can have "fixed." My new Saab mechanic is Danny at Jim Stephen's Foreign Car Service.…
Best foreign car service garage in Cincinnati. I know that the phrase "honest mechanic" seems to be an oxymoron, but not when you are talking about Jim Stephens Foreign Car Service. Dan and his staff have always been super friendly, professional and efficient with all my repairs. In addition to my cars, they have also serviced my girlfriend's cars as well as her family member's cars, too, for around 10 years now. I have always been happy that their service is never trying to sell you what you do not need and always gets it right the first time, all at great prices.
