I'm completely serious when I say I routinely get better sushi at grocery stores. The rice was hours old, the rolls were cold, and the salmon had a bone in it!
The snapper was completely flavorless.
My companion ordered the tuna special without asking the price - big mistake. It cost twice as much as an average entree, more than the surf & turf, for a 4-ounce tuna steak.
In general, the prices were exorbitant and the quality delivered was abysmal. Anybody who knows anything about dining will be enraged to spend their money here.
Upsides: the planked trout and the overpriced tuna special were pretty good.
Best Meal I Have Eaten Outside of Manhattan. The Fish House was an outstanding meal, excellent service and ridiculously good food. In a city where good seafood is a carp with a lemon, this place is out of this world. The Stuffed Lobster was to die for and the sushi puts its sister restaurant Teak to Shame. No pretentiousness here, just the best food.
Awesome!. The Fish House has the best sushi I have ever had. They have a great selection of house specialty rolls as well as the traditional (eel & cucumber, yellowtail and scallions, spicy tuna, etc.) I highly recommend the baltimore roll and the futomaki is the bext that I have ever had. I have been to other sushi bars in other cities, and the fish house is by far the best i have been to.
Great fish & good wine list. Besides the excellent quality & preparation of the various seafood entrees, I appreciated the good variety of wine choices, even by the glass, which is somewhat unusual in many high class restaurants I have visited recently. I can highly recommend the Chumeta Pinot Noir, as well as the Terra Valentine Cabernet. As for the fish, I tried the emerald mussels, as well as the pecan planked salmon, both of which were outstanding. Will definitely make this one of my frequent stops, on future visits to Cincinnati. Thanks also to Matt, my server, who managed to be attentive without being overly officious.
If you love seafood and have money to burn they offer some of the best in Cincinnati..
A pleasant, upscale-casual atmosphere, Mt. Adams' primary dining area seats 30, the sushi bar seats 10. Windows facing the bustling streets lighten up the dark green walls and dark wood accents. The upstairs dining room is larger with similar decor.
Fish is flown in fresh daily from selected suppliers and prepared with care and imagination; the menu is focused and each specialty delivers.To start, the crab cake with Cajun remoulade sauce is well-seasoned, lightly breaded and large. Blackened salmon with gorgonzola cream sauce, another delicious appetizer, packs some heat. Steamed king crab legs (half-or full-pound portions) are served simply with drawn butter and fresh vegetables for a meal. Planked Nova Scotia salmon is the signature dish at the Fish House. Cooked on a cedar Chinook plank, it's finished with a smooth Pinot Noir sauce with rosemary new potatoes and asparagus. Only seafood lovers need dine here as the menu offers little else.
Sushi to kill for!. We go at least once a month for the sushi and each time we leave we are happier than the last time. Everything is always incredibly fresh and prepared with great care and creativity. We have eaten at some of the best sushi restaurants in the U.S. (Nobu, Morimoto...) and the Fish House remains our favorite. A true dining experience.
