The Schoolhouse - A 50 year proud institution.. FYI...the previous 2 comments were left by former employees (or firends of) who were unhappy with our new kitchen manager's attendance and hiring policies. If there are any questions or concerns, please call the restaurant and talk to one of the owners. If you have any concerns, we invite you to review our execellent inspection reports at the Hamilton County Public Health web site. We are a very proud small family owned restaurant serving Good Food for 50 years. We would like to thank our loyal customers and friends for supporting our 150 year old schoolhouse and the families who work here. We invite you to come experience our restaurant sometime in the near future. Vistit our web page : theschoolhousecincinnat, com for more information about the restaurant. Thank you.…
This restaurant needs shut down.. The food is terrible. I don't even know how this place operates or how people can spend their money there (which is a hefty price!). The quality of the food is harsh and metallic like the can it comes in. The portions are small for the meals, and the sides, don't even get me started on them. I've been hearing by numerous resources and from angry employees that the food there is literally dumped back into the pan it came out of. It's horrible and it's considered ASSAULT. Someone in that dining room could have a serious and contagious disease. It amazes me that the Health Department has not caught on yet. The first and last time I went there. Absolutely repulsive.…
The truth. Let's see where to start. Well the chicken is breaded there the slaw is made there and the fritters the rest comes straight from a can. Nothing else there should be called home cooking. They serve endless veggies and that's no joke they take them in the kitchen when your finished and dump them right back in the pan and serve them to the table sitting next to you gross right? Well tha'ts not the best part how about smoking in the kitchen. To clear a few things up no one from the so called deprived town works there i think they can get better jobs than this place. Now i have eaten there twice and knew someone who worked there for a short time. After i heard about the kitchen my wife and i never went back. There also was some drinking and drug use on the job by the staff and owner. Not a place i will be taking my family anytime soon. Thats just my view you be the judge.…
What are people thinking?. I have been going to the School House for years and I have always had a great time there! I met Chris and the rest of the crew when my husband took me there on a date. They are really good people, but if you have ever been to the School House on Mother's Day or believe it or not Thanksgiving Day you would understand how the team has to keep people moving in and out of the dinning area. It is a small place, but if family style dinning is what you want then it will not get better then here. My hat is off to everyone who works there!!!!!!!!…
Not a great experience.
I really wanted to like this restaurant because of the good reviews. However, our experience was very mixed. The salad was great, the corn fritters are amazing. The rest of the food not so much. We
ordered the fried chicken and a special of baked chicken with alfredo pasta. Both meals were barely warm. The chicken with the pasta was dry and almost cold in the center. The fried chicken clearly sat around after being cooked. Not what I call great for two meals costing $15 each.
In addition, we were practically pushed through our meal. We were told there were large parties coming and things were going to be very crowded. Wasn't really concerned about it until we were offered take home boxes about 10 minutes after we got our entrees????? We overheard discussions from the staff about available seating and they pointed at our table and said "two places there". This was about the same time we received the take out bags. The check came shortly thereafter with a comment: "No dessert, right" as opposed to "Did you want dessert?" Obviously they wanted us gone.
I got the impression that this is a restaurant with a regular crowd and they just simply do not care if new people come in. Well, not to worry, I will not become a regular or even a repeat customer. What a waste of $60.…
