Use extreme caution when buying your books at Dubois.
Make sure you are aware of the ridiculous return policy before you buy your books at Dubois. They have a two day return policy. I have never heard of anything so ridiculous!!! Employees are unfriendly and definitley not worried about customer satisfaction. You would think with our economy in the state that it is in that they would be willing to work with you, not get rid of their customers. I tried to return a book 7 days after purchase, still in the plastic and was refused a refund.
I will make sure new freshman do not waste their time at this bookstore. Shop at the Miami Bookstore at Shriver. Much better prices and a friendly staff who actually wants customers and a future business.
Dubois Book Store has rude and unhelpful employees. I went into the Dubois store to find the prices for my books this semester. I needed to get figures for how much they would cost altogether so that I could make sure I had enough money or get it from my parents. When I walked into the store, I was asked if I was there to buy books, and when I said I was, a salesperson offered to help me find my books. While walking towards the stairs I clarified that I didn't have the money on me, and that I was trying to get the prices so I could let my parents know. At this point the salesperson stopped and told me that the book floor was closed, even though she had been leading me towards it. I explained again that I needed to get prices so I could come back with the right amount of money, but she told me the book floor was closed "for that person." I think it?s very unprofessional of the sales people, or else a very unwise company policy, to have a set of rules for some customers and a set of exceptions for those willing to pay right away. There were no other customers in the store, and it would have only broken up the cashiers' conversation for a few minutes to help me look. In fact, I could have looked at the books without their assistance and marked down the prices on my own. A responsible, well-trained employee would have gotten the prices for a customer if they aren't allowed on the book floor. Instead, I left the store and looked at Follet's. I don't plan to buy books at Dubois bookstore in the future. I am telling everyone I know about how rude the employees are and how ridiculous the company policies are so they won't waste their time or spend their money in Dubois bookstore. I am completely disgusted with this business.
