My husband and I have been visiting the Brandywine Inn for over 19 years. We even have a table we no longer have to request because Doris, owner and wife of the chef, knows to seat us there. Going to the Brandywine now is like eating at the home of friends. Although we rarely see George (the chef and other owner) as he is busy creating fabulous food, Doris is considered by us to be a good friend. We even often have a glass of wine together at the end of the evening when things have quieted down. The Brandywine is classic french cooking at its best with George's personal style. The Chateaubriand is the best I have ever had (even in Paris), simple, elegant and so good you will want to lick the plate. Served rare, it is tender - throw the knife away, you will not need it. The monthly specials are creative and gourmet delights. The only problem will be deciding which to order. In fact, there have been times when we have ordered an extra entree because deciding was just too difficult. From filet mignon to poached (in my opinion the only way to serve) salmon to the occasional lamb chop and chicken dish, we have never been disappointed. We have had our Thanksgiving dinner there the past few years. Traditional but still with George's touches like a starter of seafood strudel and onion soup. This is not something you can whip up at home but it will make you wishing you had leftovers. We plan on being there again this year so perhaps we will see you there. Reservations are a must if you want the specials, especially for days like New Year's Eve and Valentine's day. Worth the drive, worth every penny, you will become regulars if you visit only once and you will be remembered by Doris.

WOW! We are still raving about our dinner at The Brandywine Inn! Excellent food! Beautiful presentation! Perfect service! We love quiet, out of the way spots.... where you can really talk and ejoy a wonderful dinner with each other or another couple.... and this is the place! We were so impressed! The Monterey Chicken appetizer was lovely, and the filet was out of this world! Dessert is all homemade as is everything....down to the rolls! Can't wait to go back!
