Restaurant inside Ohio's oldest inn welcomes the famous and not so famous with straightforward American fare and classic charm.

Editor's Tips

Private Rooms:
Private dining rooms are available for banquets of up to 80 guests.
When to Go:
Christmas is celebrated the old-fashioned way at the inn--special displays, including one with 19th-century toys, and a menu Charles Dickens would love.

Perfect Night

Tried a slice of Americana tonight and could not have had a better experience. Started off by sharing the unique and tasty saurkraut balls, followed by a crisp salad. I then had a filet cooked to perfection, while my spouse enjoyed the Duck in orange sauce. Topped off with a Peanut Butter Brownie Ice Cream Dessert. Simply put, SPECTACULAR! Our server was interesting and timely. She obviously enjoyed what she was doing (even in the old fashioned dress she has to wear). They even had a historian going table to table telling us about the famous people that have paid them a visit. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a dining experience because The Golden Lamb is much more than just a great place to get a meal!

I recently dined (June 5, 2009) at the Golden Lamb with three friends. After waitng 40 minutes looking over menus, a waitress finally appeared to take our order. Things continued downhill from there. When our food arrived, 25 minutes later, it was fair but certainly not what we would have expected considering entrees were price between $17 and $35. (the mashed potates were not real!) The surroundings are lovely but someone needs to wake-up and improve both service and food quality. We were very disappointed!

  • Pros: historical site
  • Cons: poor service and so-so food
