Greedy, selling foreign junk, poor service. I must agree with previous poor reviews. I am still fighting with the waterstone blvd store in trying to get them out to inspect the dresser I foolishly bought. First one delivered damaged (and after 30 days of waiting,) the replacement in my bedroom now REEKS of some odd animalic smell the will not go away. Now in second week of waiting for their furniture repair staff to call me and come over to see what can be done. The smell is not from the finish or varnish drying - it reminds me of a wood infection. Store management is apathetic about customer service. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.
Disappointed, don't trust the management. I bought a couple leather sofas a few years ago and was told they would be delivered in three weeks. It took 2 1/2 months. They gave me an extended warranty because of the delay. When there was a problem and I tried to use the warranty, the warranty company said the policy was invalid because of errors made at the store. I talked to the manager at the store, he said he would resolve it. Two months and many phone calls later, he said the warranty was not valid and it was not his problem. A few more heated discussions later, he a agreed to give an in-store credit toward a future purchase of $125 (the supposed value of the invalid warranty they gave me), although the sofa that was supposed be covered is still damaged and they will not take care of that. At that time, I did not fully trust the store manager, so I went into the store to make sure the in-store credit was present and to get some sort of gift receipt. He reassured me it was in the computer system and would be present when I want to redeem, but did not give me anything in writing. I recently tried to purchase a sofa and use the credit toward the purchase. The same store manager said he remembered our previous conversations, but did not remember any sort of store credit and nothing was recorded in their computer system. They are not trustworthy, and will not live up to any promises or commitments. I've never written a negative review about a business before, but felt I needed to say something because I have never had this poor an experience at a store in my life.
Couldn't Care Less. The problems we had buying a simple living room set started in August of 2008, and were only recently involved as of yesterday, May of 2009. Management shifts constantly, delivery service is unreliable, upper management is rude and nasty, and the owner is unreachable. Unfortunately, this is one of those companies who bought the right to the name, and Bassett can do NOTHING. It wasnt until my SECOND claim with and advocacy group that we finally got the damaged table replaced, and the end table. Do not do business with these people unless YOU can take delivery on the spot.
