Delicious. Having lived in Turkey and loved the food I was surprised how good Cafe Istanbul was. Another surprise was a reasonable selection of good wines. If you go, take a friend and share the sample appetizer plate - its outstanding.

False advertising of specials and discounts. When I ate at cafe Istanbul 2 years ago the food was awesome.But after the past 2 times I am never going back. The second to the last time I went they said they no longer were excepting the entertainment book. Is it possible for a restaurant to simply opt out whenever they feel like it?! I was pretty angry about that but they said there is a paper on the front window that states it. I'll be sure to remember to check the doors and not menus now on of places to see if they are no longer allowing coupons they put out! I decided after a year to go back for one more try only because on the levee website they advertised a 2 dinner special for couples that included drinks.When we were seated I asked about it and the waiter never heard of it. When he went to speak to the mysterious manager he came back and said they didn't know about it and there internet was down? That makes 2 times they have done this so we walked out and went to Brio for less leaving them with only 2 customers seated in the back. I have been going to restaurants for awhile to know it is only a matter of time before they close.

Decent cuisine, TERRIBLE service.. To begin the night a group of friends decided to try a new restaurant, we decided to try Cafe Istanbul. After getting a table and ordering our food eventually came out, all but one meal. We decided to wait until the last person was served, which took almost 20 minutes. I had very politely asked the waiter if I could speak with the manager. At the very least I wanted to recieve and apology, the waiter returned and stated that the late meal would be taken off of the bill, and that the manager was busy in a meeting. After our meal was finished, which also happened to be only mediocre in quality and very poor in portion size, I had once again asked to speak with the manager, and this time I could see the waiter walk over to the bar and speak with a man in a dress shirt. The waiter returned and said that the manager was busy speaking with the bar tender. At this point I was very frustrated. Eventually our bills came, we paid, and walked toward the door. When I walked past the man who I believe to be the manager, he was hitting on a woman drinking at the bar. This is unacceptable in my opinion. The manager avoided a customer by drinking and hitting on a woman at the bar, instead of doing his job. I prefer to eat at restaurants with good service, and I will never go to Cafe Istanbul again.

Will not return ever!!!. We had reservations on a Saturday night and when we entered at 7:00 pm we found the restaurant half empty. After being seated, we quickly found out why. We had a waiter that didn't seem to know what he was doing. We ordered drinks, he took them one at a time and returned with each individual drink, and when he served the appetizer we always ordered when we dined there, it was so small it was not worth the money and it did not have half of the items we had in future visits.

Next, when we looked at the menu, all of the favorites we liked were not on the menu. They do not serve the quisine they were famous for in years past. What a disappointment. The food we did order was not very good as far as taste and texture.

When we went to pay our bill, we gave the waiter a debit card (Mastercard) we received and cash to make up the difference of the total we owed. The waiter came back and said they could not use the card so we had to give him more cash. Upon leaving we spoke with the manager regarding our gift card and he was curt, rude and became beligerent and would not listen to what we were saying. I cannot understand why we could not use the card as we used it the next day with no trouble. I don't believe he know what he was doing and covered it up with his attitude. Needless to say, we will never return. I would not be surprised to see the restaurant close because of the way they treat their customers. What a shame!

Aweful customer service. We were looking forward to experiencing a new cuisine, unfortunately we were treated to the most unprofessional treatment by the hostess of this eatery. Apparently someone had researved the entire restaurant and they had no way of accomodating our party it would have been fine if they would have just told us so instead the hostess walk by us twice glaring at us then finally after waiting what seemed to be ages she turns to us and said "there is no space for you" and turned her back to us. I don't know about you but I thought the hostess is suppose to pleasant & to say the least under all circumstances professional the rolling of her eyes, glaring look and her rude tone of voice surely wasn't pleasant.
