When I ate at cafe Istanbul 2 years ago the food was awesome.But after the past 2 times I am never going back. The second to the last time I went they said they no longer were excepting the entertainment book. Is it possible for a restaurant to simply opt out whenever they feel like it?! I was pretty angry about that but they said there is a paper on the front window that states it. I'll be sure to remember to check the doors and not menus now on of places to see if they are no longer allowing coupons they put out! I decided after a year to go back for one more try only because on the levee website they advertised a 2 dinner special for couples that included drinks.When we were seated I asked about it and the waiter never heard of it. When he went to speak to the mysterious manager he came back and said they didn't know about it and there internet was down? That makes 2 times they have done this so we walked out and went to Brio for less leaving them with only 2 customers seated in the back. I have been going to restaurants for awhile to know it is only a matter of time before they close.

To begin the night a group of friends decided to try a new restaurant, we decided to try Cafe Istanbul. After getting a table and ordering our food eventually came out, all but one meal. We decided to wait until the last person was served, which took almost 20 minutes. I had very politely asked the waiter if I could speak with the manager. At the very least I wanted to recieve and apology, the waiter returned and stated that the late meal would be taken off of the bill, and that the manager was busy in a meeting. After our meal was finished, which also happened to be only mediocre in quality and very poor in portion size, I had once again asked to speak with the manager, and this time I could see the waiter walk over to the bar and speak with a man in a dress shirt. The waiter returned and said that the manager was busy speaking with the bar tender. At this point I was very frustrated. Eventually our bills came, we paid, and walked toward the door. When I walked past the man who I believe to be the manager, he was hitting on a woman drinking at the bar. This is unacceptable in my opinion. The manager avoided a customer by drinking and hitting on a woman at the bar, instead of doing his job. I prefer to eat at restaurants with good service, and I will never go to Cafe Istanbul again.
Cons: Terrible service, manager needs to be fired.
