douchebag bar/rent-a-cop/b-rated pornbartender/sloppysloppy.
This place is TRASH.
Watch out for the RENT-a-COPs and the Trashy bartenders...they are out to make their one-dollar bills (or four quarters).
The location is great, but the atmosphere is trashy. You won't feel good about the decision to spend a dollar, let alone five to purchase a beer...Trust, not worth the energy.
I had my friends from Canada come down to visit a couple of years ago, and we spent a lot of money and it felt like a highschool reunion, and not a bar.
We got together again, and it was too late to go "downtown" so we went to the dive again, and well, as expected, The Stand turns out to be a ___hole....and there you have it...
there you have it: really a third-class, low-standard, waste of time and money.
Brutal. Don't waste your time and money.

Sure we have DJ's on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and they play everything from rock, soul, reggae, funk and hip hop but the true music lovers come for the juke box during the week. The Stand has one of the best in town with the likes of The Heartless Bastards, The Greenhorns, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Queens of the Stone Age, etc. etc. Drink specials all the time during week on beer and liquor and bring your favorite records on Sunday night for Sunday Spunday, where we let anyone come in and spin their private collection to the bar!
