Worse than I could imagine. I feel that I have shaved points from my aptitude score for subjecting my girlfriend & I to a movie that was the equivalent of a 2 1/2 hour Godiva meets Nine West commercial. I am astounded that an intelligent & sweet actor such as Kirsten Dunst could be persueded into doing a film like this. Cocktail party blackmail photos perhaps? Sofia Coppola would be better off taking her "artistic interpertation" into the fashion advertising world rather than pandering it off on an unsuspecting public in the form of a feature length film. People can usually manage to stay awake through a 30 second ad slot. Either that or take a job peddling DVD rentals at Hollywood video until she can at least hone her film making skills into something worthy of a B rated rental.
Pros: No redeeming qualities
Cons: 2 1/2 hours of your life sucked into a vauum

Marie Antoinette is a fabulous escapism rental that entertains with beautiful costumes and scenery. The Palace of Versailles backdrop is magnificent and very authentic. While watching the shoe shopping scene be sure to look for a fantastic modern day touch inserted by Sofia Coppola..
