SYNTHESIS Architecture + Planning is the continuation of Carl A. Strauss and Associates. Carl A. Strauss, FAIA was one of the most respected architects the Cincinnati Tri-State area has ever known. The office has been in business for over 50 years. Upon the retirement of Carl Strauss FAIA, in 2001, it was renamed, and is run by Alexander Christoforidis AIA, AICP, a registered architect and certified planner, as well as professor at the University of Cincinnati. We are a small office specializing in residential work, small commercial projects, Church design, and site planning.
We offer professional architectural services from conceptual design, through project completion and everything in between. If you are thinking about building, it is in your best interest to have an architect working with you from the very beginning of the design process, until the end of construction. We can steer your project in the best direction for your needs, making the most of your time and capital. We tailor the design to your property and your lifestyle, and provide construction documents which will allow contractors to bid in a detailed and fair manner. We also offer help in the bidding process, making sure you get the best contractor, and can periodically observe the construction to see that all is according to plan.
What may surprise you is that for less than a real estate commission, this office can provide you with exceptional architectural services, and personal attention to your project, with your best interest always at heart. Many of our clients end up saving much more money through smart, efficient, effective, design than they spend on architectural fees. Better late than never, Alex! BTW, Todd has not totally finished yet -- have not had the final inspection...I haven't forgotten you want to see the finished product! I love, love, love the way it all turned out! My experience: After a miserable experience with a less-than-professional architect, Alex was great to work with. He listened to what I wanted, explained what could and could not be done, suggested improvements, and worked with the contractor I'd hired in a very professional manner! In the event of needing an architect in the future, I will contact SYNTHESIS Architecture + Planning again!
