Tips for Academy Of Kung Fu & Tai Chi

February 24, 2013

My son started at 4, my daughter at 6. They have learned much- discipline, focus, physical fitness, how to win, and even how to lose. They have a great deal of sel-confidence. They both have competed at intrnt'l tournaments, and have won. Overall, they have won many trophies and medals. I had opportunities to go to other locations with my company, and I have declined because I want my kids to continue to attend the center. The school has a family atmosphere. The instructors are absolutely the best. We are always getting compliments about our childre, and we tell people that Kung Fu is a big part of why my children are the way they are.

My entire family goes to the Academy of Kung Fu & Tai Chi (also known as Western Hills Kung Fu). Shi Ye Ware is honest and fair, and I appreciate the things I and my family have learned.

One of my sons has been going there for over 5 years now, and I and my other son have been going for almost 5 years. My wife now has been doing kick boxing on Monday's and Fridays for almost 2 years now.

Great instructors, great people, you won't regret it.

Academy of Kung Fu & TAI Chi. I have looked for months tofind the best Kung Fu for my 4year old and everywhere i turn brought me back to this one academy. My wife and i checked out the academy and made phone calls. We both liked the values and the leadership the empose on the children. ShiFu April is great with children and ShiFu Martin is as well. They both helped my son who had A.D.D. We both love the center and my son does too. One of the best things i liked was all children in order to recieve their belts have to compete for them. Their not just given their earned. I'll be very happy when my son earns his white belt and i thank the center for there help.

Great job guys. William Lyall

Great classes, great instructors!. Western Hills Kung Fu & Tai Chi is among the best martial arts academies in the Cincinnati area. Sifu Martin Ware and his instructors are both competent and skilled instructors. Sifu April Nordman is an excellent instructor for adults but even more so for the kids and teens. The little ones respond VERY well to her instruction methods and she's as patient as they come.

Kung Fu is not like other martial arts forms. Whereas Karate and Tae Kwon Do emphasize belts and rapid progress, Kung Fu is less about the belts and more about the technique. There's ample opportunity to advance belts but that's not why one attends a martial arts academy (at least it shouldn't be). WHKungFu really puts that emphasis on technique where it should rest. Their students compete on a regular basis and do very well in area tournaments, not to mention placing well in national/international tournaments.

Another major plus, especially for parents, is the cost of classes at WHKF. Other schools cost a great deal more; WHKF is affordable and you definitely get your money's worth.

A definite high-recommendation for this school, especially for parents.
