Love the atmosphere. Our most recent visit to Symmes was great! Our wait was minimal for a Friday evening dinner - about 15 minutes for 2 people. I ordered the New York Strip, and while this cut is supposed to have a fair amount of fat on it, it was at least 1/3 fat. A little disappointing, however, the meat itself was melt-in-your-mouth, no-need-for-steak-sauce fantastic! The service was what you'd expect for a happening Friday night. The atmosphere had a great buzz to it...a lot of thirty-somethings unwinding and watching ball games. We checked out their banquet rooms and after narrowing it down, my fiance and I booked our 35 person wedding reception here. I'll be sure to write a follow up!
Don't bother to make reservations!!!. The one positive thing I can say about our dining experience was that the food is good. However, that's where the positive ends. We had reservations for 7pm and didn't get seated until 7:35pm. So why take reservations? We were there 15 minutes early so ended up waiting 50 minutes to be seated. There were walk-ins that didn't wait that long! The service was so-so. Waitress had too many tables to serve. And finally to cap it off by the time we were ready for dessert they were out of cheese cake and the creme brulee. The food is good but not good enough to make up for the poor managment. We will take our business elsewhere in the future.
Fine place for locals but nothing special. I ate there on St Pats day with friends. I ordered mild BBQ wings. But mild and BBQ are 2 different types there. So they brought out mild wings without bbq sauce. When I told the waitress I didn't want the mild buffalo style sauce and to exchange them for BBQ that weren't spicy wings you would have thought I asked her to swim the English Channel. She actually had to go get the manager to OK the request. The manager came to the table and acted like he was doing me a favor by exchanging the wings for the style I requested. Very strange experience.
