Doctor Kolp is great with children

I disagree with the post advising not to take your children to see Dr. Kolp. Dr. Kolp has been my doctor for many years as well as my sons Dr. since his birth over 11 years ago. He has always been great with both my son and I and my son trusts Dr. Kolp completely. Other than mis-communication or lack thereof of his staff giving Dr. Kolp certain pertinent information at times, I am very pleased with Dr. Kolp and his professional care. I would highly recommend Dr. Kolp.

Wait Time

Even though, Dr. Rubin is a top line doctor, getting information to him from the staff is in great need of vast improvement. Wait times have become better, but still needs more improvement. The staff needs to be more involved in providing pertainant info to the Doctor, which often seems to be distorted by the time its delivered!!!

• Pros: Dr. Rubin is excellent, caring and thorough!!
• Cons: Wait time is better, but still needs to be improved

Take the time

I've read the reviews regarding the wait times and they are a problem. But you do have to remember that one reason for the wait is that Dr. Kolp takes the time to listen - really listen - to what you are telling him. He takes the time to explain problems or solutions. I've gone to the "assembly line offices, where the wait times may be 20-40 minutes but it you see the doctor for more than 5 minutes its very unusual. I am not a patient person, but there are things worth waiting for. Seeing a good doctor who is genuinely interested in you and your situation is one of those rare things.

so even if you have to wait - do it - it's worth your time

Dr. Kolp is a great dr.,But...........

Dr. Kolp is a wonderful dr. he really trys to find the best medication for me for financial reasons. Do not reccomend him for children though b/c I used to see him as a child and I used to cry when I had to go to the dr.The wait time if your appointment is in the afternoon can take at least an hour and a half. all you hear is the patients in there gripping how long they have been waiting. They office has some serious overbooking issues. The nurses seem very friendly it's the office manager to look out for. I have had problems with her on a few occasions regaurding the insurance companies but a few calls from the insurance straightened that out. some of the other dr.'s that were in the office were really great and it's sad to see them go.But dr. Kolp is great take it from me. I drive 45 minutes one way just to see him.

Office plagued with problems

Dr. Kolp is a wonderful man and a good doctor. Unfortunately, his office is plagued with many problems, including a wait time that can be hours (yes, hours) long. If you have an appointment towards the end of the day, you are pretty much guaranteed to be there past dinnertime. He also gets very cranky at times and loses patience, which is something he possesses in abundance 95% of the time. However, that 5% of the time can be offputting, especially to a small child (I have witnessed this). He seems to have a problem keeping partners, which means that he is always short-staffed. It is unfortunate that he has these problems, though, as he is definite a warm, caring man who knows his stuff. I wish him the best, but have had to move my family elsewhere.

• Cons: Waiting time way too long, office staff makes many mistakes
