defintiely going downhill

I used to love going to Pump Salon until my recent (horrible) experience. Although it's easy to set an appointment, my last stylist was sooo disrespectful. I don't want to go into detail what I would say about her! She acted like she didn't want to be working, talked sarcastically, pulled my hair like I was mannequin, and most of all, didn't genuinely treat me well. I was nice and kind the entire time, but I finally told one of the employees, who listened, but didn't seem to "care". I have always loved Pump Salon, but due to my terrible experience, I won't do business with them again!!! They're going to lose returning customers, like me fast.

Cancelled My Appointment 1 Hour Prior

Most women can relate to this - you schedule an appointment at a salon a couple weeks in advance, get an email confirmation and a phone confirmation, then 1 hour before my appointment time, they call me (at 9am on a Saturday morning) to tell me that they "won't be able to fit me in" for my 10am appt...What?? No good explanation, just "we are overloaded with the Pump event today"...ummmm? I've had this scheduled for a few weeks now...seriously?

If you have something important that you've scheduled a hair appointment for, MAKE SURE YOU DON'T SCHEDULE AT PUMP SALON. If you have a lot of time on your hands and are fine with last minute cancellations, then maybe Pump Salon is fine for you.

Just wanted to share so that hopefully I can save someone else from a bad experience...there are plenty of great salons in the area...don't choose this one if you can help it

Amazing Hair Colr

I have been going to PUMP SALON since they opened. That should say something right there!! The color techniques they have used on me have been very successful. I am ALWAYS commented at work about my hair and everyone gives me such great comments on the color and cut. I have been very pleased with all the stylist. They are always very friendly, kind and considerate. The atmosphere is great and I definitely would recommend PUMP SALON for all ages and gender!! :)

Best Stylists in Cincy

I've been going to Pump just under a year. My college stylist left the industry, so I was searching for the right replacement for years. I'm the person who never knows what she wants when she goes in, so I need a stylist that is great at doing what looks and works best for my hair. Rachel is amazing! My highlights always look great and I even get compliments when they are grown out. She is so good at blending them with my natural color. I've been letting my hair grow for my wedding and Rachel is the first stylist I found that actually just 'nips' the ends. I never have to worry about her cutting too much off. Yesterday I had my wedding trial appointment and she did a great job. Just what I wanted! I can't wait for her to do my hair for my wedding.

I highly recommend Pump to everyone...they are awesome!

Unfortunately, this salon has gone downhill

After reading the glowing reviews on citysearch, I decided to try Pump...big mistake. I went there for about a year and a half, tried both 'artistic directors' (i.e. the most expensive) and ended up with a hair disaster 6 months before my wedding. The hair cuts were decent, but the color was botched every time.

1) They ONLY want to do partial highlights because they get almost the same amount of money, but only have to do half the work (after a year of partial highlights, I was STILL getting recommended to to partials!).

2) My stylist never really listened to what I wanted my hair to look like. I asked several times to get a lighter shade of blonde, but got the SAME dull color every time.

3) At my last appointment at Pump (6 months prior to my wedding), my stylist messed up my highlights so badly there were giant chucks that were un-colored, including a huge part at the front of my bangs. When I pulled by hair into a pony tail, it didn't even look like I'd had it highlights. I had bleach spots and stripes all throughout my hair. I had to go back for her to "fix" it the next week, but ultimately went to another salon to get it fixed.

Obviously, when you pay so much for the service (>$200), you expect that you are getting hair & color experts, this just isn't the case at Pump anymore. All I can guess is that the stylists that made this salon great have all left since the glowing reviews posted here.

Don't loose hope though, try Kelly Whitaker at Salon Concepts if you are looking for great color and cuts at a VERY reasonable price.
