Great food - simple but elegant.. Great food! Worth many return trips. We love to walk down and grab a nice dinner before a movie at the Esquire.

A Hidden Gem in Cincinnati!!!!. Coming from NYC I have a lot of good and also some bad dining experiences. I am happy to say that I mostly only have good things to say about Tinks! From food to service, it provides a very pleasurable dining experience. I have had their shrimp and grits, crab cakes, diver scallops w/butternut sqush and my fiancee really enjoys their salmon with sweet potaot mash... I was not in the area when the other chef was in the kitchen - but whoever is back there now does an excellent job as well.

We really enjoy this place for its cool and comfy atmosphere, very professional wait staff service, unique menu and excellent food. My only complaint is their desserts don't match the quality of their entrees and appetizers... We had had their cobbler and flourless chocolate cake and neither one were worth the calories! So skip it here and have it eleswhere!!!

Overall, Tinks is a great place to go when you are tired of the same old, same old.

Follow the Chef...... What I loved about Tinks had more to do with Chef Sean Daly who has left the restaurant and is opening up his own place in Oakley called Hugo. His style is what made Tinks what it was and I plan on following him when he opens his doors in May 2007 where Pho Paris used to be.

Cafe fills the dining gap Clifton didn't know it had.. The Scene
This simply-decorated restaurant, with lots of windows, warm wood floors and abstract art on the walls, became an instant local hit when it opened. Tink's menu is eclectic and ambitious, though not particularly upscale. Starters include curried carrot soup, a baby greens salad or lump crab cakes. Pan-seared sea scallops, roasted pork loin with rhubarb confit and sweet potato ravioli are among the entrees. Desserts change seasonally, including a springtime panna cotta with berry compote.

Some Fine Tuning Needed. Tink's Cafe is a great place to have some great food with friends. The menu is eclectic and Moday night jazz is wonderful. Tha parking is difficult in Clifton, but w/persistence you'll find a space. They always have a vegetarian entree; however, they haven't changed it in months creating a monotonous dining experience for vegetarians. Also, their corkage fee has gone throught the roof. It was $20.00 the last time we brought our own bottle of wine. This is offensive and needs to be addressed by the owner. Lots of glass and hard wood make the restaurant quite noisy when it's crowded. However, the food is good and the waitstaff is friendly and attentive.

Worst Dining Experience in the Past 5 Years. I asked our server to help decide between three dishes that sounded good. His response: "I like everything." He seemed unfamiliar with the menu, unable to distinguish between dishes or describe them in detail. My companion asked a similar question, and the server's response was "I never recommend the crabcakes here."

Salads were acceptable, but when our entrees arrived, steak ordered medium was grey throughout, and the chicken was too tough to cut through with a knife. The waiter did not stop by once to ask how the food was.

After explaining the situation to someone else (and to get a drink refill, after our glasses had sat empty throughout the entire meal), a satisfactory resolution was not offered.

From food to service, this was the worst dining experience I've had in the past 5 years, regardless of price. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Off night?. We were seated quickly but the food was slow in coming. They ran out of 3 of the entree items leaving the menu a bit sparce. My entree of Scallops suffered as a result. They ran out in mid course. Running out of a popular item late into the evening is one thing but not to this extent. We observed other tables of people who were vocally upset with the pace of service.

I do however like the wine list since there are many wines by the glass and it is reasonable.

Would I recommend Tink's? No, not yet. Our experience was bad. They were in no way capable of dealing with the Saturday crowd. They were way in over their heads. A shame really since it has such potential.
