A part of Cincinnati history has been renovated and is worth a touristy look-see..
In Short
Appropriate for Porkopolis, the site chosen for the fountain, between Walnut and Vine streets, was once a butcher's market. Erected in 1871, the figurehead of the sculpture is called the "Genius of Water." The most recent restoration of the fountain, completed in May 2000, added floodlights, the key to the fountain's newfound success. The water-play in the floodlights, the 43-foot statue, and the steady gathering of locals and tourists combine to create great photo ops.
BORING. IT WAS VERY BORING. JUST A FOUNTAIN. I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE WAY MORE FUN.
