Cincinnati 101
The city still takes its cues from the rhythms of the river.
From the Queen City to the Blue Chip City, Cincinnati has had a rich history, boasting plenty of local heroes who've made their way onto the national stage. Between the beautiful skyline and the delicious Skyline, this proudly Midwestern city is big enough to have a world-class symphony, a contending baseball team, and five-star dining, and small enough that you can still run into an old friend while walking through the heart of downtown.
Getting Here
For about $20, you can get from the airport (which is in Kentucky) to the downtown area. Your best bet for finding a cab after that is at one of the many hotels.
Getting Around
Public transpiration is limited to the Metro bus service, which goes all around the city. If you're driving, keep a look-out for orange barrels and detour signs.
Best Time to Visit
Summer is a great time to visit, when you can hit the Zoo, King's Island, and a Reds game. But conventioneers keep it bustling year-round.
Eating & Drinking
While in town, sample the chili. In fact, you can eat three squares without once hitting a national chainFrisch's for breakfast, LaRosa's for lunch, Montgomery Inn ribs for dinner, plus dessert at Graeter's. Wash it all down with a cold Hudy Delight.

Fountain Square
A much-needed restoration in 2000 returned this Grande Dame of Cincinnati to her former glamour. For over 150 years, this has been the place for public celebrations, romantic rendezvous, and displays of civic pride.
Paramount's Kings Island
Remember that "Brady Bunch" where Jan lost Mr. Brady's plans in an amusement park? That was here! The park has lots of big, scary rides, including Son of Beast, "the tallest, fastest and only looping wooden coaster on the planet." You've been warned.
Home of the Reds
Native son Pete Rose once commented that Cubs fans go to Wrigley to watch the Cubs play, Reds fans go the park to see the Reds win. You won't find more astute fans anywhere, well-versed in the history, numbers, and nuances of the game.
Main Street
Impressive dinner? Check. Dancing in spandex? Check. Live music? Check? Boho coffeehouse? Check. Looking to please everybody on your next big night on the town? Head to Main Street for a little bit of everything.
Local Flavor
You've probably heard about Cincinnati chili, and thought, "Huh?"
But trust us, the exotic blend of spices that does indeed include cinnamon and chocolate, is delightfully true to its Mediterranean roots. Give it a try. Then follow it with a Graeter's ice cream cone.
